I think you ought to come over to Billing, I'm on night watch that weekend |

These aren't difficult to paint 'at home' using Halfords plastic primer and colour of choice. Also, no need to remove the heating graphics, just slide paper under them to mask out Click image to enlarge Admin note: this post has had its images recovered from a money grabbing photo hosting site and reinstated |

Thought I would do an update on my 110 as it is just about to hit 100 000 KM.
Changed tyres last week to BFG A/T much quieter on the road than the Coopers . Car has had a fair amount of warranty work which has included. Complete new front axle and suspension to cure car pulling to the left. To achieve this took 36 emails, over 60 phone calls 10 meetings with the Dealership MD. Car was in the workshop countless times. What a battle !! but Legal action was avoided but only just. Mud flaps replaced twice due to rust and flaking paint. Back window catches replaced due to rust. Leak to drivers footwell. 4 visits to the dealer to fix. Leak to passenger footwell. 8 visits to the dealer to fix ! Door seals reattached. Rear Cross member repainted due to worn paint. Front Bumper repainted due to rust bubbles. Bolts replaced due to rust on front bumper. Body work repaired on rear drivers side where mud flap tore underside rear wing. Broken rivets replaced on back. Window surround repainted due to flaking paint. Rain gutter on the front repainted due to flaking paint and no paint on the inside. Rain gutter on the back repainted due to rust bubbles/corrosion. Window blocks replaced due to corrosion. Rattle to clutch and transmission fixed, 6 visits to the dealer. Squeaking clutch pedal fixed. 3 visits to the dealer. Complete underside of car and chassis undersealed and rust protected due to rust and flaking paint. LR changed their position from " rust is not structural" to "yes we will look after the problem" once I mentioned taking legal action. What message does that send ? As you can see the list is long. It took a mountain of effort from me to keep pushing to get things fixed. I feel the dealership was ALWAYS trying to look after me THE CUSTOMER. All this on a car that is cleaned at least twice a week has never been off road, polished with the best polish in the world and is treated better than a saved baby seal by green peace ! My experience is that LR try to bully, to get the customer to go away. It amazes me that some of the problems are so easy to fix and yet LR just do not bother. I doubt any of us in business would keep using the same suppliers if they kept suppling sub standard parts. LR are responsible for putting the dealer and the customer at odds with each other by selling a product of dubious quality. So the car is running great, looks great, do I love it ....yes , would I buy another, yes. I have had 2 other defenders while owning this one. I took some new photos this afternoon as it has just been detailed. warranty is the biggest pain about defender ownership, i took my car in to have a few things done, cross member, window blocks, rear door hinge panel thing, rain trap next to roof, took photo's with a description of work to be done...
they did the rear door and window blocks, cross member, roof not done... haven't bothered calling them about it yet, just going to drop in at a time inconvenient for them |
