Belted Galloways
These youngsters arrived last week to help manage regrowth in an orchard and bank we have cleared of scrub and hawthorn. 5 steers, all pretty chilled. Naturally they prefer the young orchard trees to the scrub! Once they have settled in we will add a few more and mix the sheep in to graze the short stuff.

I like the Belties, when we had the house in Moffat there were plenty around there.

I agree Belted Galloways certainly look lovely graizing away. If you are going to mix them with some sheep then the Swiss Valias blacknose sheep (Walliser Schwarznasenschaf) would look rather splendid. How cute are those?

Our neighbours keep some cattle on my parent's farm. A herd of Angus with one Beltie, because the wife likes them, the husband 1s not impressed!

They look pretty cool Discomog but I’m just imagining the admin with those beggars! We had 30ish Ryelands a few years ago and they were heavy on the tlc front. The hebs that followed were relatively easy to care for as long as you could catch them!
