Well, today I removed the fuel tank and managed to break one of the connectors on the fuel pipe as I was trying to remove from the fuel tank. Does anyone know if these are available to buy?

I feel your pain, I had a similar issue when refitting my tank a few years ago.
Only option other than replacing the whole pair of plastic hoses is to use some of these. I fitted them with a hot air gun to soften the pipe. http://www.4x4overlander.com/product/nakat...nes-set-2/ Don't loose the black clip though! Steve 02' 110 TD5 Double Cab Rebuild Thread |

I used these too (www.4x4overlander.com/product/nakatanenga-connector-for-fuel-lines-set-2). I joined the new nakatenga parts to lengths of new pipe and then standard in-line fuel pipe connectors to join the new pipe lengths to the old. I couldn't get enough heat from a hairdryer. I ended up heating some cooking oil on the cooker and warmed the pipe ends in that before fitting. After some experimenting I found that about 20 seconds in oil at about 130 degrees worked well (used my wife's jam-making thermometer to assess the temperature). Carrying hot oil in thermos flask enabled me to join pipes outside without removing them completely. The extra length of new piping gives some useful slack for easy disconnect when removing the tank/pump in future.  |

Thanks for the responses. I will revisit the pipes today when I get a chance to get back up there. It is at my Uncle's as he is better at Welding than me. I thought the clip was part of the connector but by the looks of the picture, Dorsetsmith posted it isn't.
Annoying that there aren't many online UK sellers of these connectors. Scary price for some ally connectors from Nakatanenga, but then again most of the Nakatanenga range scares me on price. |
