Speed limiter is controlled by ECU - Remap is the only way to remove it.

Yes, the section with the weights is just under the gaiter.
To remove the lever end, there are two clips at its base pull these out slightly and the lever should come off. |

Just sorted mine out, pulled gaiter up from bottom, took gear stick off, two sprung clips which holds it so that was easy, gave it a shake and the weights on the bottom were loose so I just packed them out and is good as new, little tip if you're guna do this don't pull gaiter up from the bottom, slide it down off the bottom of the stick, un clip and check, saves faffing about trying to get the gaiter back on properly!!

I was trying to do the same last evening, as you said by pulling the gaiter down. But it takes a lot of effort to keep it down enough to be able to unclip the stick. Probably i need a mate to help me ![]() ciao! |

Well, i checked mine and it seems like the plastic balljoint is a little loose so i'll have to change it to stop the rattling. What really suprised me was the difference in noise levels with the carpet off. My clutch has always clunked but it's always been very quiet while driving but after removing the carpet it sounded bloody awful, as though the gearbox was about to explode at any time. anyway with the carpet back on it sounds fine again. Do you think the sound insulation might be hiding the fact that my clutch is doing more dammage than i first thought? It really did sound bad. 130 crew cab

10 minutes! 10 minutes to fix the annoying rattling. The difference was made by a pair of loving hands (my girlfriend's) that helped me to pull down the gaiter. Then... unclipped the stick, checked the rattling (weighs got a bit loose), pushed a bit of cardboard between the weighs and the supporting structure, poured a drop of glue to keep everything in place for good, pushed the stick in the gaiter and clipped it back.
Ding dong, the rattling is gone ![]() |
