Electric window switch
My drivers window has stopped working.
Sorry if this is a silly question but how do remove the electric window switches from the facia? I've taken the radio out, and thought I could just push them out from the back.

The problem is most likely to be a broken wire in the rubber between the post and door. Ray

I must confess I did have a little nosy at that, but I just wanted to swap the switches over to rule that out.

Any idea which wire it's likely to be, and what's the best way of checking it?

Cheers

I’am currently fixing it Laughing

First take off doorcard. Then remove rubber sleeve from door fixing and pillar fixing. Then you can wiggle the sleeve back and front to Check all the wiring. In my Case the red one was broken and the Blue one had a tear. So replacing both. If you want photo’s let me know. a defender from 1984 pretending to be a puma with a touch of Range Rover

Second Photo is Just an overview. In the first Photo i wiggled the sleeve upwards. To expose half of the wires to inspect them. Then downwards to inspect the other half. The red and Blue wire are both 2 mm2 wires. The wires used by LR are too stiff so get a good quality flexible wire. I run the new wire through the sleeve and solder them. Did the first one you can see on the left.

Photo 1 there’s a connector in the pillar. And Photo 2 everything works. Just have to tidy up everything!
