After scouring the web for a while to try and find something which constantly fights rust, I came across this http://www.rustguardian.co.uk/. It seems abit too good to be true, has anyone had any experience with it?
Thanks Jack |

1989 Range Rover brochure RR504 states-Electrophoretically corrosion proofed welded box section chassis.
Much the same principle I think yet Land Rover stopped doing it. Maybe it was a cost cutting exercise or maybe it just was not up to the job. Any 1989 Range Rover owners out there want to coment? 1982 88" 2.25 diesel 1992 110 200tdi csw -Zikali 2008 110 2.4 tdci csw-Zulu 2011 110 2.4 tdci csw-Masai |

Yes they work on boats, but as your Landrover is not a boat then it won't work. Something to do with being submerged to allow the electrical circuit to complete. Google it.
Electronic rust protectors use a technique called Cathodic Protection where a flow of electrons is forced through the metal which brings it closer to an immune state and reduces the metal’s corrosion potential. Cathodic Protection can only work if there is a complete electrical circuit to bring back electrons. That’s why these devices can work for boats, bridges, pipelines and etc., since there is a pool of ions surrounding the metal to conduct electricity and to close the circuit. So, unless you bury your car or submerge it in water, these electronic rust protectors cannot possibly work for cars (remember that all the metal to be protected needs to be surrounded by free electrons so it’s not as simple as grounding your car) taken from here---- http://www.corrosion-doctors.org/Car/car-electronic-rust.htm don't waste your money. |

I need to find out some more on this myself to do with work - and I don't work with boats but buildings.
the reason I need to find out somemore is due to one of the buildings I'm involved with has this type of protection (cathodic protection) for the steel reinforcement within the concrete / structure. also the window frames are bonded into the circuit? |
