Mine had nuts on the studs of the carrier with large washer between the nut and the wheel. You could adjust them to get the wheel sitting correctly on the carrier. John

Bit more on this - mine was vibrating even more today. took the wheel off and noticed that the lower studs will move along with the plate inside the carrier. Solution is to put washers on the studs (to give the required adjustment space of your choice) then the adjustment nut over them then tighten, then put the wheel on. Hey presto, no vibration.

Finally did this today. Took my wheel off and made a few adjustments. My tire doesn't vibrate while I drive but shakes when I close the door. I didn't put washers behind the adjusters but it seemed well adjusted. I can't figure out why it vibrates when I close the door. I am running svx wheels if that matters

I saw your solution but I was wondering, what you mean by the lower studs will move along with the plate?

If no washers on the back then the stud backs move and the wheel vibrates. Put washers on as in the pic I posted then tighten the nuts and the washers stop the studs moving in and out. Not much else I can say really, it's in the pic?

What do you mean though about the studs moving?

If the spacer is not tight to the wheel carrier itself then there is a gap. The studs go through the back of the carrier to face outdated and there is a plate on the back to keep them in place. If you do not put on washers to fill that gap then the weight of the wheel causes the plate to flex along with the studs and the wheel will vibrate when you close the door and on bumpy tracks etc. Give it a try. Wind out the spacers half an inch and put the wheel on. Grab the wheel top and bottom and you will be able to rock it towards and away from the vehicle. The washers fill this gap and prevent the studs from traveling

I've just fitted a Mantec wheel carrier and there were no stops on the three studs that come pout to hold the wheel. Therefore the wheel is sat at a strange angle and although solid and not moving, the wheel nuts aren't holding it in place.

Can these spacers be bought from somewhere like B&Q? Does anyone have an idea of the top of their heads what size nut would be required for these studes?

Suppose I could just get some large washers and some nuts to hold them in place?

James

I was worried when I swapped my original Boost spare for a wider Mach 5 (couldn't stretch to the cost of a fifth originally) despite being alot wider than the Boost due to the offset the wheel ended up further from the rear door, so much so I can get behind it with a sponge and clean the door easily! Thumbs Up If you go through life with your head in the sand....all people will see is an ar5e!!
