First do a basic test if the motor is still OK
Disconnect all cables. You have 2 connections near the output shaft. Put a battery plus on one of them. Connect the other to the connection on the other side off the motor. Now you have one connector on the btm off the motor connect that to the negativ off the battery . The motor should run now. If not the motor is broken. If the motor runs now you have to look to the wires or solenoids. as above, check motor works, ideally in situ then on a bench if it doesnt work in situ. make sure the motor is held firmly if bench testing.
you can also remove the manual freespool to remove any load on it then test. connect earth jump lead to bottom of motor F1 to battery + connect F2 and A together. it will rotate one way F2 to +ve connect F1 to A it will rotate the other way i would wire it direct with jump leads to a battery +ve and Earth cables. use 35mm2 cable to connect F1 and A. it will arc off terminals if you just touch cables to them (assuming it works) so i would use flying leads to jump leads as you dont want to damage the threads. You have got the earth strap on it i take it? Did you remove the manual freespool gear when you fitted the motor? not a shaft alignment problem there? if you just pulled motor out and slid new one in without touching manual freespool then that could be the problem. I have used and run 8274 based winches for last 15years with XP, Bow 1, 2,2.5 and 3s for comps and pretty much everything else. Post up your findings and we can go from there. Right so I popped down to Winch-It to get a new solenoid.
Got a 600a one now so that should handle the power. He told me about how to test the motor. Ive done that. Motor is working fine. Still not working even with the 600a solenoid |

It must be a wiring problem then. Can you make a picture how it is now connected? Roel

so its got an earth?
what was score on the freespool fitting? is winch motor on or off the winch? did you test it as suggested above or was that the same suggestion? Cheers James 110 2012 XS Utility 130 2011 M57 bespoke Camper 90 2010 Hardtop 90 M57 1988 Hardtop |

original solenoids were clicking which suggested that they were working fine. its wired correctly at solenoid end? by taking off old motor A and either F1 or F2 werent in different locations? have you gone back to same physical locations or to actual A, F1, F2 etc? haev you checked that against wiring diagram for Albright? Cheers

If the soleniods are clicking it doesn't mean that they make good contact. I know from experience. Roel

I concur but, the originals were clicking and hes changed them anyway so it would suggest they are ok.
until he does whats been suggested or posts up his findings its a bit of a waste of time trying to help anyway. Cheers James 110 2012 XS Utility 130 2011 M57 bespoke Camper 90 2010 Hardtop 90 M57 1988 Hardtop |
