The only thing that bothers me with SGS is how the make claims about being a "UK Manufacturer" on their website. I've seen many people buying their jacks and engine cranes under the belief they're UK Made, and even online reviews making such claims but when actually the only thing SGS make in the UK are Gas Struts when you drill down into it.

All the jacks and stands they make appear to be the same rebranded Chinese ones that everyone else sells. SGS 'may' have higher quality control standards with their Chinese supplier, but there's no real way of knowing that.

But back to the original question.
I've got a Webber trolley jack, it depends what you mean by 'reasonably priced', but I think mine was less than £200 new. The built quality really is like night and day compared to the cheap ones. It has a two stage pump in it so it lifts quickly, but then changes down a gear when it takes up the load. The castors even have a slot machined into them with a rubber O-ring around it so it's nice and quiet when you drag it around the workshop.

I think the Sealey Cross Beam Adapter can be bought for about £55 when used with the trolley jack it gives you extra lift height as well.

Not seen the adaptor before but I think its a good idea and would make jacking the 110 and my series one's much safer. Thumbs Up

I like the look of that, and really should do something different that jacking under the diff and having to lift really high to get the axle stand under the lower side or faff about with repositioning for the 2nd stand.

Best price I can find online is £58.19 inc VAT & free delivery:

this would be nice if you have rock sliders and the holes to use them:

Great info but I like what you have shown me. I have not actually bought anything yet but intend to very soon.
Got the Defender on a set of borrowed stands (well 3 and a borrowed trolley jack) wheels of for powder coating.
But I really need my own kit. Thanks for your help.
