I’ve managed to do mine several times. Either your nipple had snapped

Both front prop nipples are the same, neither have snapped and I’ve had the truck since new so I don’t think there is much chance of them having been swapped.. 2014 Keswick Utility 2.2

You should be able to grease the prop in place.
I've always done mine in place ![]() |

Nipple could have loosened, fasten it until you can either use it or you think you're going to shear it off.
That and a combo of letting off parking brake until its ideally positioned.. Solved the bowel problem, working on the consonants... |

I had same issue with my TD5 front prop, manual grease gun end was too big to fit between the UJ's, I had to use a different gun with a slimmer end.
Original grease gun did every other grease nipple no problem. Could hear the grease popping as it was pushed in ![]() |

For the awkward "one" i use a chain saw grease pump on the ball valve.

Do you mean something like this?
https://www.clarkforest.com/shop/chainsaw/...rease-guns I’ll have to take a pic of my prop because I can’t see how that would help- there is just zero room... 2014 Keswick Utility 2.2 |

Thats the one but if you jack up the car on the driver side it opens the yoke up.

I’ll try jacking it and see if it opens up enough- many thanks. I was expecting to be able to do it with the truck on the ground. 2014 Keswick Utility 2.2

it depends on what grease nipple is on the UJ, they are not all the same, some are between spiders, some as in middle with angles head, some had the later with the angled head snapped off! just remove it axle end and grease whole things whilst manipulating the joints through full range of movements. Cheers

I struggle with this job too with my grease gun if the propshaft is on the vehicle.

As said jacking up one wheel and rotating for position works well! However with no threaded hole for a spline nipple too be fixed prop occasionally has too be removed! Special tool works there!

![]() Click image to enlarge So... I jacked up the front so I could spin the front prop- the picture above shows what I found. Both ends are essentially the same- rotating the prop doesn’t really help- the nipple is shielded by the yoke. Is a right-angle, extremely low profile grease gun extension a thing? 2014 Keswick Utility 2.2 |
