I was the same as you Rashers, alcohol was there if I wanted to try I was allowed in a sensible and controlled way.
I think the problem is it’s now deemed socially acceptable for people to get into such a state and then dismiss their actions “oh it’s just the booze talking/making xyz violent” etc. the social attitude needs to change to the way people over consume, you travel to Europe, Belgium for example and they have beer restaurants but the social attitude of the country means they will enjoy a sociable drink and return home in a safe state (from my personal experience). 90 wolf - Jasmin http://www.defender2.net/forum/topic39408.html 90 V8 - Maggie http://www.defender2.net/forum/topic42564.html 110 TD5 - Buggsy http://www.defender2.net/forum/topic59029.html 52HG25 lightweight https://www.defender2.net/forum/topic72342.html D3 Hse - Fiona Capri 2l S - Anna Think I might have a problem............ |

As Mash and others 'who have served' will know, being drunk is considered by HM Forces as a 'self-induced' state and therefore any repercussions are entirely of your own making. As such, if you are unable to carry out your designated role as a result of your drinking, even the next day, or else your state impacts others through damage/violence/verbal abuse etc, it's a chargeable offense, punishable by death. OK, I made that last bit up, but the rest is true. So yes, get yourself into that state and either bare the consequences yourself or pay for others doing it for you. Monsieur Le Grenadier I've not been everywhere, but it's on my list..... 2011 Puma 110DC - Corris Grey |
