We've got a ranger 2x4. Quality is poor and it doesn't suit slow stop start usage (around our campsite for example)
We are probably on starter motor 6 or 7 now and there is a lot of play in the steering column. We have had to replace the carb as it wore out after 1300 hours. It's a 2008 model and we have had it from new. It has had a very sheltered life (always stored in the workshop) If you're using it for longer journeys and faster work then it may be good. If it's just a toy then I'd look at the RZR ![]() 1990 Vogue SE Triumph Tiger Explorer 1200 Td5 90 Thread http://www.defender2.net/forum/topic50767.html Tdi 110 Thread https://www.defender2.net/forum/topic69562.html RRC Thread http://www.defender2.net/forum/topic54492.html Instagram http://www.instagram.com/george_grafton |

I’ve got a Kubota 900 RTV.
Pretty good ; 2 or 4 WD with a diff lock ; all hydrostatic. Goes most places but ground clearance is the main issue, so, if you get into ruts or snow deeper than your wheel hubs you are asking for trouble. May your life be like toilet paper ; long & useful. |

They are very expensive new, I was surprised when I saw the prices.
I guess it's a pain to road register here too. (As usual for anything a bit different,) WeWillWin🇬🇧🇺🇸 ⛽️🛢️⚙️🧰💪 Last edited by custom90 on 28th Dec 2017 6:03pm. Edited 1 time in total |

If you buy a Polaris RZR you get 2 versions. The agri version and the EU spec. The EU spec is fully road legal. Lights, horn, proper handbrake etc etc. They are up at £20K ish now for a new one.
But I can tell you, the 900 RZR XP is a blast to ride. Will do 70mph (according to the speedo) on the road. And does it on a regular basis on the A4174 ringroad. This is mine. Done a few mods since this pic was taken. New doors, front 1/2 screen, remap, sports exhaust, beadlock rims, better tyres. It's more expensive to modify than a Defender. I'm after some MAXXIS tyres for it. But they come in at £180 each ![]() ![]() Click image to enlarge 110 D250 SE HT 110 USW SOLD RRE HSE Dynamic Gone, wife killed it VOLVO XC60 R Dynamic with some toys Polaris RZR 900XP SOLD |

Not got one of those but one of these, great for greenlaning especially on our overgrown byways round here that would scratch the Defender back to bare metal, it’s also exempt from seasonal lane closures due to being low impact. Also gets some use on local pay and play site.

A bit more for agricultural use, tried the JD Gator and Kubota, ended up preferring the Gator.

Thats a knock off of the Can Am? The CF moto brand has come on leaps and bounds in past years. Hoping they now use decent connectors rather than the non waterproof versions when they first started 110 D250 SE HT

It’s deffo not Honda quality but it’s not Honda price either ! Only issues I’ve had have been water ingress into button that adjusts the digital clock and brake light switch corroded internally when water got in to that, both easily sorted. Connections to 4x4 selection and diff lock and ecu etc appear to be well sealed. All in all have been pleased with it would,nt hesitate to buy another. 2005 Td5 90 XS

The agri version of the RZR is a couplke of £K cheaper but you don't get the nicetys. On the EU version you get the road kit and turf mode. WHere the standard RZR has 2 or 4 WD the turf mode isan elctric rear diff which goes into 1WD. So it acts like a diff on a car. No scrubbing of tyres on tight bends, no rear of car overtaking the front when you pin the throttle. Mines tuckd away currently, a bit to cold to be doing 70 down the ring road. I know you can go slower but why would you? It's just a big go cart. So much fun to drive. 110 D250 SE HT 110 USW SOLD RRE HSE Dynamic Gone, wife killed it VOLVO XC60 R Dynamic with some toys Polaris RZR 900XP SOLD |

I bet they are great to drive, is there any harness / seatbelt differences? WeWillWin🇬🇧🇺🇸

The seats are very basic, They clip in by 2 lugs on the front and a clip on the rear. I changed mine for bucket seats. The belts are normal 3 point belts. But they didn't look right for the RZR with bucket seats so I changed mine out for 6 point harnesses.
Now when I'm gently driving around, there is no fear of me falling out ![]() Mine is a 2012 version. I think from 2014 onwards if you don't have your factory seatbelt clipped in they are limited to 15mph. But it only took a few months for some companys to find a work around. Easiest and cheapest is where the cable from the seatbelt joins the main loom. There is now a version of that connector with a loop wire to fool the ECU. Simple is sometimes the best. 110 D250 SE HT 110 USW SOLD RRE HSE Dynamic Gone, wife killed it VOLVO XC60 R Dynamic with some toys Polaris RZR 900XP SOLD |
