After having no luck with above i thought I would have to take it in to a garage but before I did this i changed one of the u v joints at the front end which was quite badly gone, after doing this i went out to test the landy to see if it felt better, the squeling noise had totally disappeared and hasn't come back so far.i can't believe that was what was causing the squeal

Hi Jed,
Just wondering if your squeal has come back. I have a very similar problem (chirping noise after a couple of miles driving) and after reading your thread checked the UV joints to find one that seems to have a little play in it and as I had just been driving it the joint was warmer than any of the others. Is it an easy job to replace them? Would you do both ends or just the worn one? (defender 110 High Capacity) |

Manage to do the UJs and the squeal has now disappeared. One of the caps was broken so this probably caused the squeal. the new UJs have grease nipples how often should you grease them?
