Got the wheel fitted this evening and took it for a spin. Very nice and I appreciated the lack of rattle from underneath curtesy of the new exhaust heat shield
Click image to enlarge My darling wife always complains that I get more parcels than her but she doesn't appreciate just how exciting todays' delivery is: Click image to enlarge When I bought my 90 the rad cowl was missing but I didn't give it a second thought at the time. Little did I realise that like the turbo heat shield, they're no longer available new and like rocking horse poo 2nd hand. So, after a year of looking, I'm chuffed to bits Darren 110 USW BUILD THREAD - EXPEDITION TRAILER - 200tdi 90 BUILD THREAD - SANKEY TRAILER - IG@landroveranorak "You came in that thing? The battery gauge was a bit of an accident. One of the first jobs that I did was to repair the broken dash, which involved a Raptor cowl for the back part and a good second hand fascia that, I think, came from a 300tdi. That fascia came with three dials that included that one for the battery, so thought I'd stick it in. I'll confess that it's not even connected yet as I haven't had chance!
It is, as far as I'm aware, a standard optional part. Darren 110 USW BUILD THREAD - EXPEDITION TRAILER - 200tdi 90 BUILD THREAD - SANKEY TRAILER - IG@landroveranorak "You came in that thing? You're braver than I thought!" - Princess Leia |

Great thread, please keep it coming! Have you considered an all in one solution for the above? Mine has a piece of fabric like yours but it attaches with a press stud type fixing into the centre of the seat base, this has the effect of holding it up and stopping the support peg from flapping about. |

Thanks
I hadn't thought about an all in one solution. It's an interesting idea but I've recently ordered some thin neodymium magnets that I plan to glue to the seat base where the legs touch, which should do the trick. Most of yesterday, on and off, was spent painting hinges.
Passenger door: Click image to enlarge Rear door: Click image to enlarge All were sanded, cleaned and etch primed before receiving three coats of blue and one of clear lacquer. The plan today is to paint a replacement rear door, which is of the later, all steel type. Top job I need to do mine as well, luckily the rear door didn't have a spare on it so the hinges are in good nick, so ill probably do a refurb like this.
I love stuff like this, built not bought as they say 1993 200 Tdi 90 CSW 1956 Series 1 Hard-top 1958 Series 1 Soft-top |

The new rear door is now part way through being painted. I tend to spray the inside of the frame with a rattle can for ease but the outside will be brush painted with coach enamel: Click image to enlarge Click image to enlarge I'm also taking the opportunity to prepare a couple of floor plates for the front, ready for replacement whilst I've got the painting materials out. I'm a little way off that particular task, though: Click image to enlarge Darren 110 USW BUILD THREAD - EXPEDITION TRAILER - 200tdi 90 BUILD THREAD - SANKEY TRAILER - IG@landroveranorak "You came in that thing? A spare hour this afternoon saw me finally solve the minor niggle of the legs on the rear seats clonking when the seats are folded up. To be honest, I've probably spent far more time on this than it warranted, but I am pleased with the result.
My solution involved magnets: two 25mm x 8mm neodymium ones, to be exact. I glued them to the back of 25 x 30mm squares of 1.5mm thick rubber and then cut smaller rubber fillers to fit each side, all fixed together with superglue: Click image to enlarge After a bit of careful measuring, I cut a matching rectangle of carpet out of each seat base in line with the middle of each leg: Click image to enlarge And the glued in the rubber/magnet sandwich with Araldite, including the now loose edge of carpet: Click image to enlarge The free-swinging legs are now neatly held against the seat bases without the need for any additional straps or fasteners and easily pull away when required: Click image to enlarge This sort of thing keeps me off the streets and makes me happy Darren 110 USW BUILD THREAD - EXPEDITION TRAILER - 200tdi 90 BUILD THREAD - SANKEY TRAILER - IG@landroveranorak "You came in that thing?
