Thank-you. It's a shame Arran cannot make it, the problem is if we re-adjust the date we will never ever get one. As where some can make it others won't be able to on another date and then it's a never ending cycle. However, I see no reason at all why we can't have another in the new year or similar dates. Then then those of you who cannot make October can hopefully make then instead. So the Clump lane is a first stop, I'll look into that this evening. Will avoid lanes near the Tilshead area. Here is the first lane, those of you that know it is the correct for route?
It is a BOAT (Byway Open To All Traffic.) And I have marked it in Orange to distinguish it from all of the rest. The rest is self explanatory. Click image to enlarge No Guts, No Glory. 🇬🇧🏴🏴🏴🇮🇪🇺🇸⛽️🛢️⚙️🧰💪 |

TBH I don't think it's worth "avoiding" an area because some months ago someone put some nails into a random set of ruts. You're all far more likely to get punctures driving the graded cat1 tracks off of a (or several) spent 5.56 or 7.62 shells. I've lost count the number I've had over the years. |

From the above map, when you come out onto the A346 at Ogbourne, be careful as it's a busy bit of road. Plenty of visibilty, just you need to pull out and get a move on... eventhough Ogbourne has a 30mph limit, people coming down from the right from Marlborough seldom are doing that speed.
Going straight over up the byways there towards Poultons down and Warren farm/Sound bottom are some nice byways, a bit muddy, not rutted (some are tarmac), makes a nice bimble into the back of Marlborough via Mildenhall (pronounced Mine-all) |

Thanks Jim - I will take note of that for that lane.
When I was last out there toward Imber I couldn't help but notice there seemed to be a lot of speeding going on in the main roads. Of course a lot of lanes criss cross them too! Does anyone have a Go Pro? That maybe interesting if somone wanted to use one. No Guts, No Glory. 🇬🇧🏴🏴🏴🇮🇪🇺🇸⛽️🛢️⚙️🧰💪 |

This outing is taking shape ,not being from the area can't really give any input but really looking forward to driving some of these lanes. In the summer we had a week in Coutson on the edge of the Plains and we had a day driving some of the well marked lanes in the area, this was in my road going Jeep Grand Cherokee even some of the white road are nice all over grown ,grass in the middle of the tarmac .Keep planning lads.
