Procta,
Sorry to hear that, on the plus side it's not that harder job and the proper OEM gasket is not that expensive. Not been in mine as much as under it again. I can report that the rear axle is now rebuilt with all new oil seals, stub axles, bearings etc. etc and new oil in the diff. Now where is the better half I need to go for a test drive. I took it to work for the first time this week after rebuidling the rear axle.
No signs of any fresh oil emissions or any untoward noises. I'm one happy bunny 1995 300 Tdi Epsom Green - It's a keeper. Wide Track Sankey- In bits- Gone to a new home M0XQS |

I took Jas down to the local recycling yard to dump some scrap metal etc, thinking I was doing good clearing some space......
As normal nothing goes to plan a small bit of rusty metal went into the skip and I left with even more rusty metal than I started with On a plus note these are my new rusty bits: Click image to enlarge 90 wolf - Jasmin http://www.defender2.net/forum/topic39408.html 90 V8 - Maggie http://www.defender2.net/forum/topic42564.html 110 TD5 - Buggsy http://www.defender2.net/forum/topic59029.html 52HG25 lightweight https://www.defender2.net/forum/topic72342.html D3 Hse - Fiona Capri 2l S - Anna Think I might have a problem............ |

Went to our local country show in Gracie and bumped into Ian of IRB who was there displaying a few of his customers vehicles. It's been ages since we'd seen each other despite living only five miles apart so we had a right good natter.
I'm glad to say Ian looked fit and well despite the slow recovery from the nasty accident he suffered. He also demonstrated the rear panoramic glass in a 110 to Mrs Nosnibod and she was very impressed. I suspect my wallet will be suffering soon - I always wanted a 110 utility and Mr Nosnibod wanted a CSW (which we have) so this could be the ideal compromise Highlight of the day at the country show - watching the shetland pony racing - a fantastic mix of hilarity and fierce competitiveness from the very young jockeys Dave Green Goddess - 1998 Defender 110 300tdi |

Made some room in the rear end of the Td5, as I had to pick up a complete set of old One Ten County seats in "Brushwood".
Click image to enlarge Swallowed them all, quite easily. Click image to enlarge Just need a vehicle to fit them in now! Click image to enlarge |
