Bought another two Sealey 3T axle stands to complete a full set, on their way for delivery tomorrow. Ł24 a pair.
Sealey pry bar set, again en-route shortly. Useful for checking bushes etc. And bought two Wera Joker spanners, an 8mm and 10mm the latter arrived today. (I like them too.) Today, noticed the brake light flicker on and off on an incline so it's time for a bit of a brake fluid top up. May as well shortly check the pads and finally get the steering lock stops adjusted, hopefully the weather will be a bit more stable. It has been a busy defendering day here:
Firstly I finished off fitting the new drag link and track rods. The "originals" needed adjusting and were beyond the help of plus gas or heat to make them relinquish their grip. Then spent the late afternoon and evening getting the rear axle stripped down ready for a new diff pinion oil seal and flange, new halfshafts and drive members, new oil seals throughout and now as it turns out new stub axles to boot. 1995 300 Tdi Epsom Green - It's a keeper. Managed to find the errant tracker box then used the roofrack as an access platform to trim a tall hedge. Then parked the Defender in the road with a few cones and a couple of hazard triangles to reduce the road to a single lane and provide some protection whilst I ventured up a ladder to do some painting.
