Windscreen Wipers a Little Slow to Get Going

Hi

The windscreen wipers on my 2012 Defender are very sluggish across the screen when first switched on and are a bit painful to watch. They tend to take a wee while to warm up to their normal speed. Just wondering if it is time for a new motor before they give up on me in the middle of a heavy downpour.

Any suggestions appreciated.

It's more likely to be the wheel boxes seizing up, you can pull the rubber boots of the wiper spindle under the wiper arm and shoot some wd40 or similar down the spindle while there running to prolong life for a while. Ray

Once its freed up a bit use some longer lasting lube like 3in1 on it too, as the WD40 will dry out in a short while.
I had one spindle seize completely last year, and the spring to early summer transition is the most likely as it drys out and seizes often with rusty dust. ⭐️⭐️God Bless the USA 🇬🇧🇺🇸 ⭐️⭐️
