I will have a look on Ebay once I have the funds back up, looks like this is going the XS look by the looks of it. She seems to be wanting to go that way, So that's the way we are going to go Very Happy Don't blame me its way things are going Laughing
Anyway today I did a patch work, due to the weather been nice. ( no photos of that due where the location is, I have had to bond a patches on, other wise its going to be a body off job and a replacement chassis. Shocked 1000 plus I have not got at all Sad
But anyway, while that was drying off setting,
I decided to give my battery box a tidy up, ( that really needs a good stone chip in side there) I gave it a good old hoover out.
The amount of crap in there was unreal!
Also I did a few little things too, nothing to write home about but its one of those daft little jobs. Which involved rubber grommet's from work for free. Smile

Same went for another hole that was right behind the battery,
One thing that really did bug the bloody life out of me when I bought her, was the grey tow plug that is used for caravan electrics. That thing was just unplugged and left there. I had a bit of a job and a half to trace that back, I had to remove the rear inner panel behind the rear lights. For some bloody reason they shoved a chock block there, rather than just run one wire from the arse end to the battery box. All removed and binned, grommets in place and we are a way.

A lot more neater now, still could do with a stone chip in side or a repaint.

Also
Plate on, my dad decided to remove the stickers, the Censored arse that he is, Evil or Very Mad

more grommets My dad mentioned about redrilling the holes for the bull bar at the front, which I may take him on that one.
He put the exhaust bracket on, too

So we are pushing on now great! Smile Defender TD5 90 ---/--- Peugeot 306 HDI hatch back

they were on the bumper one was the company logo and the other was made in Britain. I liked the made in Britain one as that did match the landy right down to a T.
Got to see if its going to pass again this time, Still a question mark on hole, which I suspect might have be a drainage hole.
Got some plans once I can get my budget back together, I think I might roll out some little upgrades and push for a service and gearbox mounts. Defender TD5 90 ---/--- Peugeot 306 HDI hatch back

well failed again, the rear repair that was welded isn't passable, hasn't been welded properly at all. The mot tester said looks its just been a 10 min job with the wheel in place. He even stated its not worth 350 for the repair, be luckly for what was done was worth about 80 quid. So the mot tester is going to have a chat with his boss about sorting it out. Also another area was missed too, a small hole. Defender TD5 90 ---/--- Peugeot 306 HDI hatch back

the car was down there twice already, about a small section that was missed, which I ended up bonding a repair piece on over the weekend. Which should really been welded, I have spoken to the mot tester about that too. So another area that's going to be looked at. Just have to wait and see Sad Defender TD5 90 ---/--- Peugeot 306 HDI hatch back

I pick her up tomorrow with a fresh mot, cost another £100 quid to be sorted out though, that's 100 quid gone off something that could have gone towards a pair of gearbox mounts or even brakes.
I have spent 450 on repairs and 100 quid on mot so 550, nearly 900 quid if you include the bumper, Which was close to 300.
I have to start to claw back something here like, so that I can start putting money where I want it to go. I have things in my ebay listing that I would like to buy for her, I know defenders are not cheap, but all I have seem to have done is sort out other peoples Censored ups. lost a fortune in diesel to start with due to half arsed job, then 350 on a job that wasn't up to scratch.
then another 100 to have that sorted out, by mate of mine in his own time. When he should be spending that time with his children and other half. Defender TD5 90 ---/--- Peugeot 306 HDI hatch back

We are back on the road Very Happy The mot tester had to redo the full blown repair, so looks like it has been a half arsed repair job and a rushed one too, and charged me the full blown week for having the car there. Laugh was it only took the tester a few hours after wards to do the repair. He said there was more holes that was missed too. Shocked Defender TD5 90 ---/--- Peugeot 306 HDI hatch back

looks like my next move is going to be gearbox mounts and a aux belt and tensioner. So some pricing to do and I think I might buy a little upgrade to while we are at it. Defender TD5 90 ---/--- Peugeot 306 HDI hatch back

Glad its back on the road Procta Thumbs Up Once you have sorted out the jobs that should have been done right in the first place, then you can start to look forward and spend some of your hard earned money on some treats for your landy Wink Clayton.

What he said /\
I highly recommend the spare wheel carrier.. I've found it quietens down the back end over bumps, no more thumping/rattling back door for me. 1993 200Tdi Defender 90

I have just bought some daft screws and four lights for the indicators, cheap upgrades until I can wind back in some of the cash back I lost, At the moment looks like some hard core jobs may have to take the back burner, due to our terr ( my parents defender) been out of action at the moment, He is getting a new clutch in. So I have to keep mine together for the moment. Defender TD5 90 ---/--- Peugeot 306 HDI hatch back
