well yesterday, my replacement hanger is here for the rear exhaust, so that's one thing ticked off.
Also things went from this

to this

here is what needs to be fixed

This wasn't the mot failure, but we did pick this up when we fitted the bull bar.

the driver side was the failure,

Laugh was the other side has been repaired.

Moving onto the rear, now this has gone exactly the same way the other side has gone. So I am not sure on what was fixed at the rear for the previous mot, This what I am about to show you should have been an mot failure before I bought it.

Not the 1st time I have had to get welding done to a car, So I am not complaining, Smile The metro I had, needed 450s worth of welding to be done to that. So this is nothing at all.
Only thing that's biting me now is buying that replacement front bumper, this one is practically rotten, along with the fittings.
Got say though, removing the centre grill surround made life a lot easier removing the front bumper. So I may just put it all back that way. Defender TD5 90 ---/--- Peugeot 306 HDI hatch back

That rot around the A-frame crossmember will probably turn into something worse. It's a perfect mud trap and the chassis rots out inside there.

I had to remove the rear body to repair mine, and boxed it in on one side to prevent reoccurrence.

Not sure if the other side was boxed in, I know they repaired the full area so it doesn't have the holes in.
If I got a proper contract, I would have the land rover in for a galv chassis replacement. Rather than keep patching up stuff.
I bet it took some time to repair that, I am looking at about three days easy. Defender TD5 90 ---/--- Peugeot 306 HDI hatch back

She is back home now! Very Happy just got to throw her back through the mot, which I think I will have to pay another 50 quid for,
The lad who welded her, said it might be worth putting a galv chassis on her, rather than spend money on welding this current unit, its looking a little tired now.

New front bumper is now ordered too Very Happy Nice heavy duty one with the rubber ends, just to add that extra bling to her.
None front lighting one too, not a fan of day light lighting. Defender TD5 90 ---/--- Peugeot 306 HDI hatch back

Great... don't forget to put some Dinitrol or something similar inside your bumper before you fit it Wink 1993 200Tdi Defender 90

The welder has missed a section that needs to be patched, so I cannot put her through an MOT yet. Sad But something else has arrived in the post Twisted Evil

Nope, its a heavy duty front bumper with built in recovery eyes. Its 5mm think and has the SX end caps on. nearly split my self in three trying to lift the Censored .
I tell ya with that thing mated to the bulbar that's going to be some weight! it weighs the same weight as the front bumper and bull bar together, Id get some photos but its still wrapped up, I am waiting on replacement bumper fixings and I will have to buy a good drill bit for the holes for the bull bar.

I need to sort out a new front reg, the old one is cracked, Not sure if I want to drill the bumper either.
for some reason it is a little off set, no matter how much me and my dad lined it up, just seems a tight fit on the driver side. but that's how it is, Another thing is that I will not be able to use the four front bolts to secure the front part of the bull bar, due to how rounded it is compared to the old bumper. The holes do come very, very close to the edge, and I wasn't going to risk it at all. My dad said we might get away with fitting smaller bolts at a later date. if you like which is a good idea.
But its on and it looks great! my dads not keen on the side rubbers but I think its add a touch of class Razz
I did have a drama, one snapped bolt when I wound down the horn, so looks like I might just buy a replacement bracket with new bolts, if some one has any ideas on where you can buy stainless steel stuff. for the front end. That would be spot on!
Also something else came in the post to, but I will reveal later on,
I also bought a replacement switch panel, the metal one wont let the switches sit correctly for some reason, so I bought a genuine replacement.

Very Happy

Got to do a quick repair job on the rear end, which is a wheel off job and sort the hanger out. Then I can see about a test on Monday, if I can find some double sided tape just for the front reg. Defender TD5 90 ---/--- Peugeot 306 HDI hatch back
