Rear seats in a Puma 90 soft top conversion.
I have a 110 SW from which I have removed the rearmost 2 seats. SWMBO has a soft top Puma 90. We would like to fit the two seats from the 110 into the 90. As you are probably aware the wheel boxes on the Station Wagons are a differ the shape to the non SW 90s. The SWs have a stepped seat box whilst the utility vehicles have the traditional square seat box.

Alternative seats to fit (Exmoor) can be upwards of £1000! I often see the Puma rears on sale on EBay with asking prices in excess of £600, so I obviously makes sense to use the existing seats if at all possible.

Does anyone have any ideas as to how I can fit these seats to the 90. With so many on sale I wonder how they are being fitted? Surely they can't all be replacements for existing SW seats?

It can be done but involves cutting the arches to install shaped panels and the installation of various brackets for the seats and seat belts to attach to. There's been several threads about it on here, which I'm sure a search will turn up. Darren

Probably not the best thread but see pj2106 post on pg1, shows an idea of work involved.

Seat belt mounting on a soft top could be tricky?

How were seat belts fitted in the SVX, off the SD roll cage I assume? James

Seat belts top mounts are a good point. Maybe a hood stick alternative from Purely Metal would provide a suitably strong anchor point. Darren

There are no rear seats in the SVX soft top.
CSK do a replacement panel to fit in the wheel arch.
They can provide the fitting service or just the panel.
I did my own and apart from the worry about cutting your arches it isn't hard.
Are pictures on my build thread that I can send if you want them. "Of Course, Of course, I ain't asking . I'm telling!!"

Thanks for the info guys, especially the link to the rear seat installation thread.

I shall have to give this some thought! Unfortunately isn't a simple bolt in solution Confused

Is it a svx or a soft top conversion as most conversions have ability to fit seat belts in back frame to use the puma seats 2008 110 2.4 XS Utility (Hagrid)

It's a 2010 Puma truck cab conversion, problem is the square wheel boxes, the upper seat belt mount isn't a problem, it can be mounted to the rear frame. 2010 Defender 110 Station Wagon, Santorini Black.
