Cheers, it's getting there - got a mot booked for a week on Friday, so just need to sort out why the hazard lights will only work when the indicator stalk is in the down position. Plus with having the tank off it's being a pig to bleed/ start. Then there is the interior to carpet. As for the wheel nuts I'm leaving there chrome mainly cause it cheaper and I'm broke 1999 300TDI 110 CSW BMW 3.0

Well the hazards were easily sorted - new switch and all as it should be. As for bleeding the fuel line I think it must be drawing air in between the tank and pump so that will need further investigation.
Anyway I've nearly finished fitting the central locking and alarm, ordered some genuine door gaiters to run the wires from the pillar into the doors Click image to enlarge Also started on the the soundproofing before I fit the carpet. Having used this on the beetle when I did that a couple of years back I'd thought I'd use it again. Might use a foam membrane on top of it as well. A milestone was reached today when it moved under its own power for the first time in around 6months, which is good as the mot is next Saturday ( hopefully I won't have to cancel it again last last time) Ended up putting a new fuel sender on to cure the air in the fuel line, thanks to the plastic pipe been cracked. Put a new one on and all god
So before then I'd like to sort the spare tyre out - as in buy one, paint the rear crossmember, fix the horn which has suddenly died. Click image to enlarge Click image to enlarge 1999 300TDI 110 CSW BMW 3.0 1972 VW Beetle 1200 2002 Dax Rush 3.9 V8 2012 Audi A3 tdi 2020 Renault Kangoo electric |

Success yesterday as it passed with no advisories
Click image to enlarge Click image to enlarge Also ordered the carpet this week as well. Originally I did consider buying a roll of it and cutting it out myself, however I thought my patience would soon wear thin so I opted for the Exmoor trim one hopefully it will be worth the cost Other jobs on the to do list are fit the radio, speakers, third row seat, some decent door panel clips, replace the cambelt and eventually a new/repanelled back door. 1999 300TDI 110 CSW BMW 3.0 1972 VW Beetle 1200 2002 Dax Rush 3.9 V8 2012 Audi A3 tdi 2020 Renault Kangoo electric |

Well over the last few weeks I've managed to do over 600miles and not had to break out the tools once, so very happy with that. Even went away on holiday in it and it performed with no drama so I'm a lot more confident in going places in it.
Anyway there is stil a few jobs outstanding to do, the biggest issue being sorting out the rear door with a new skin at some point as well as fitting the exmoor trim carpet set that arrived last week. Another job I did managed to do was renewing the rusty hinge pins on the bulkhead vent flaps. So with the help of the dremmel and some new stainless pins the managed to sort it along with removing the adhesive form that had been used by the previous owner to attach the number plate I presume. great to see its doing well , When you put a project on the road for the 1st time, its how it proves it self afterwards. If its all been worth it. I spent well over 10k on my last project, and even then I had to make the call on to push it through an mot and insurance. Other wise I was going to get shot, I was putting money into it and I wasn't getting anything in return anymore. Once it was on the road, we went down Mallory park, then Silverstone. The car never missed a beat! But after 10k miles I clocked up, ( every day use for a bit) things went sour sadly. But that's modified classic cars for you! Yes, have to agree these "projects" can take a massive amount of effort physically and mentally that sometimes you wonder if it's worth it. The problem I seem to have currently is that I can't move projects on and tend to keep them so much so I'm running out of room (as well as money ) 1999 300TDI 110 CSW BMW 3.0
