Scott, the description of your 'wobble' is very different to the one I experienced, so unfortunately does sound more than balancing to me. Hope you get it sorted soon. I have no concerns (nor did insurance company) running high quality hub centric spacers
 Improvement in turning circle is worth it alone! James

Sorry, the sweeping claims of spacers 'overloading' the hubs is b******s. Nothing but an internet myth that circulates around car forums.
Fitting spacers does indeed increase the bending moment at the wheel bearing but is identical to fitting the same offset of wheel. Unless you are fitting ridiculous length spacers the worst damage would be increased wear to the wheel bearings. Again though, this will be no different to the fitting wheels of equivalent offset and should not be an issue unless your wheel bearings are already ruined or wrongly setup. Broken spacers/wheels falling off with spacers is a product of misuse (i.e. overtightenend or undertightened nuts) or poor quality (probably made in china spacers). So What do people think may cure the wobble.
1) Leave them off.. 2) Clean the hub / wheel / try again (they both looked pretty good to me) 3) Panhard Bushes on the front steering arm thingy.... 4) Uprated steering damper. Should something above help? (option 1 is current being tested and its fine) but I would like the on. |

Give up on the Puma and just use the Series, wobbles will be the least of your worries!

I put 30mm spacers on, changed tyres to 265 and had engine remap all when the vehicle was less than a month old... 20,000 miles later and no issues. There are always doom merchants that tell you horror stories of insurance, warranty and technical woes. Ignore, enjoy and let fate take you on your journey.....

I had a wheel wobble. Replaced my steering damper with a bilstien. The factory one was completely shot! The new one felt better, you could feel it doing its job but the wobble was still there.
mine turned out to be a steering swivel bearing failure, it could have been disturbed during some other work? My 90 Project : http://www.defender2.net/forum/topic52774.html |

The further the rim is from the bearings will increase the leverage/bending/throw, maybe not by a huge amount but the metallurgists on here may know different.

I like the Use the Series option  Turn the wheel half a turn and nothing happens in that it bounces and wobbles around 
Trying the rears on the front is maybe my first option? Thanks Then a steering damper? |
