How do I remove the puma radio. I just HAVE to install something else

yes but the radio is a bit hard to extract with only the pop rivets because you not able to do a "pull-force"

Mine radio site had two small iron plates on the both side that made friction on the radio set.

The Blaupunkt tool have hooks at the end that permit to pull the radio after to have them inserted..... Discovery 5 td6 HSE Stornoway Gray Outback Engineering Limited Edition

i used 2 bent bits of wire coathanger and swore a lot Whistle

mind you it tested my finger strength trying to pull it out. BM52

I wrestled for several days with the halfords tool. I thought I must be doing something wrong - tried every angle, every combination.

Eventually I just took the dash off - turned out one of the locating pins was bent so the extracting tool was passing down the outside of it. Quick prod with a screwdriver and all is well.

If you don't have the tools, just remove the centre section of dash and the radio is easy to extract. One that started out as a 2.4 TDCi 110 XS
+ New Defender 110 First Edition

Two bits of bent wire with the ends filed to provide the extraction catches. Takes about five minutes to make, provided that you already have the radio out in order to see what you need to file!

When you do this make sure the retaining springs are bent back into shape (if miss shapen through extraction), otherwise you will find the weight of the stereo will force it to kick out at either the top or bottom.
