Lots of people use spacers so it can't be an insurmountable problem.
Check the obvious first; are the wheel nuts (and spacers nuts) tight? Try swapping the wheels front to back to see if that changes anything. If none of that resolves it then get the wheel balanced. Beyond the simple stuff, you're into swivel preloads, suspension bushes, etc. It is entirely possible that the spacers have just magnified wear that already existed but you need to eliminate the easy stuff before jumping to any conclusions. Take the spacers out & try a run without them to see if you still have the wobble. If you had them fitted before the discs & pads were replaced & there was no wobble then I would suggest the fault lies with the discs or their fitting - do you get vibration & soft pedal when applying the brakes?? - these would suggest a warped or misaligned disc which could also be the cause of the wobble.

Update as I did remember
The garage guy did say my Drive flanges? (rear) had some play... but this would give a slight clunk in first and reverse?

hello, i had this wheel wobble you describe when after i changed my springs to alive springs last week.
today i replaced the steering dampner and now it is all ok. in fact very more better. i sumise that the springs show me the pain of the steering damper that hide with the larger oem springs and changing it to fresh (bilstein) make the steering a very nice prospect now. |

I had the exact same as you, I was convinced it was the spacers, had the wheels balanced and all was good
 for the sake of a few quid have them checked 2023 Defender L663 V8

Will try again on the way home but around 45 mpg its like an American movie drive down a straight road and the wheels all over the place (if I lose grip on it..) Its back in on Wed, the Guy who fitted the brakes said he will take them off try it and then put them on... |

It could just be that the spacers are exaggerating a wheel balancing problem that existed before but you didn't feel it? The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again but expecting different results.

More than likely the spacers have been fitted to the hub faces without the faces being cleaned up sufficiently.
The contact face of the original wheels (steel or alloy) is not the full face of the hubs. It is mostly an inner and outer circumference and patches around each wheel stud. The areas where the wheel do not contact get dirty and corrode. The spacers (or at least the good quality ones) have a fully machined surface on the back which makes contact with the whole hub face. If even a small patch of muck or corrosion is evident on the hub face the spacer does not mate flush and you end up with wheel wobble. The hubs should be wire brushed and thoroughly degreased before fitting the spacers. Steve 02' 110 TD5 Double Cab Rebuild Thread |

I had a slightly wobble at 60-65 when spacers first fitted. Got wheels balanced (£8!) and were fine after.

It's in Tomorrow What I don't understand is how balancing them would help in so much as they were ok before, unless as mentioned there was a slight wobble but not detectable? My first thought was balancing but then I didn't understand how this could help as they were ok before, Good point noted on cleaning the hib etc before fitting. Will tell the garage Will report back |
