Which calliper do I have on the rear?!
Hi!

It's a '94 300Tdi Defender 110 with salisbury axle on the rear, VIN is SALLDHMF8MA945212.

I can't decide which brake calliper do I have on the rear?! Please help!

Is it the STC1268/STC1269 or the SMC500260/SMC500270? Or something different?

Thanks!

Regards.

Microcat shows the STC1268/STC1269 calipers (which were the same as my old salisbury had)

STC1601 (superceded to SFP000280) brake pads as well. They're the "thinner" pads, as they were made bigger later on to help average out the rear vs. front wear.

Thank you! Is there a sure way to tell it? Thinking of measuring the disc diameter, as somewhere I've read one uses a 290 and the other a 298mm disc?
Wondering also if they're retrofittable? I think I'll have to buy new calippers as they seem to be in a not a very good condition, and would go with the better one if possible..

The calipers are retrofittable... On my 110 I now have the later newer "rover" type axle, and it fitted the older calipers off of my salisbury. they bolted straight on, just needed to use the thinner pads.

I think the discs were the same as well, I can't remember now. 110 has very thick rear discs... thinner ones will more than likely be for a 90.
