Edit: I've read the other thread on here about this, but I don't think it answers my question...But having looked at another site, with an LRM guide to fitting, I'm confused, as my bracket that wraps around the bumper doesn't have a nut stuck to it like they do here

You should bolt through the a bar into the bracket that wraps around the bumper which then bolts to the chassis. Ray

Mine didn't come with brackets either, looked into some but decided in the end to just hex or tex (can never remember which) bolt through the fixing panel at the bottom in to the bumper, seems solid enough, been on for nearly a year with no troubles
Also I modified the lower part to wrap around the bumper as it sat a long way from the grille ![]() Click image to enlarge ![]() Click image to enlarge |

I did consider this too. Thanks Matt, I'll probably give this ago. 1998 110 300Tdi White Hard Top

Ah ok thanks Martin.
I didn't realise there were two different fitting kits available. I have a bull bar with a hole for your first link's fitting method VPLPP0060, but the brackets for the second link's method VUB501720. Guess I'll contact the supplier, and see if they can exchange the brackets, if not I'll try Matt's method! 1998 110 300Tdi White Hard Top |

For info my brackets were shot with rust and after much hunting I couldn't find any online or anywhere so I took the rusty ones to my local engineering firm who made two up for me. I can check with them on Tuesday whether they still have the measurements stored on the profile cutter if this would be of interest. They cost about £100 mind you but far more economical than a new a bar which at £500 was a non starter. Pics below, cheers Andy
