Hardly got to fit any of my new bits as I was too busy with family and finding rust.

Cleaned up, and painted both lower frames ready for the new seal, rust kill/etch primer/top coat

Cleaned up the seating area, I should've taken a before but it was pretty disgusting, nothing like spending the weekend chiseling off boiled sweets....etc

Tell me about it....

Forgot to take a pic but I sorted out the hole in the passenger seat box area

Spent about 4 hours messing around with the rear lock today, had to file down the section the latch locks onto and elongate the holes in the door so the lock would fit centered. Must have taken it off and put it back on at least 10 times.

Found another lovely surprise while I was tinkering with the lock in the passenger side of the rear door.... as you say, one job leads on to another

Rust is one massive nightmare, when you start that's it. Going back to the metro days when I was building a vvc GTa, holes that were small ended up needing really large patches. Then more holes were found, the laugh was the car needed a replacement inner arch and a small hole patching on the other inner arch. But it turned out that it needed a lot more than that! Sorry I haven't got work in progress pics but I have done loads of work to the Defender... mainly due to the fact the front axle was knackered, one of the mounting points had broken off long ago, so I had to source a new one and recondition it with new bolts/seals....etc.

All new brakes inc calipers all round and a new master cylinder:

I think the whole bill came to £2.4k but £900 was labour 1993 200 Tdi 90 CSW
