Start with the park switch, cheap and easy.
I had similar the park switch had shorted out and blown the fuse |

Also give the arms a waggle to check one or other isn't locked solid, which can happen if the rack and wheelboxes are worn. This stalls the motor and will cause the fuse to blow.

Many years ago I had to go and Ferrari 400i which the wiper had stopped on... Having found the fuse box... which was the passenger footwell (whole thing) with hundreds of fuses... I finally found the wiper fuse and changed it...POP!
I then had a look under the bonnet, would have been rude not to , and discovered that one of the mounting bolts had worked loose and jammed the arm on the motor.. tightened the bolt, new fuse and away it went ... So the moral of the story is check everything is moving freely RRC 2.4 TD... it's either a stretched 90 or shrunken 110!! ML 270CDI |

Ive just had the same on my 2007 Puma.
Took it to my local very good LR specialist who advised that it is the LH wiper wheelbox seizing which is a common problem. Temp fix is to get some WD 40 in from the outside by pulling back rubber grommet on wiper and trying to let oil run in. Les |

Result!
So I removed the brake switch from the motor, and the plastic pin that activates the switch inside was being a bit dicky. I separated the two sides of the switch to find that the copper contact that the pin pushes to activate the switch has snapped, and bridged across two other contacts causing a short.... - hence the fuse popping instantly each time. For now I've just put the switch back in without the broken bit shorting the switch and the wipers are working again. They don't have intermittent, or stop where they should do, but they are at least working. A new switch should get it working 100% Hopefully this can help someone else one day, I heard the park switches were pants but now I know why. |
