How to run video cable from reversing cam to cabin (DEF130)?

Hi,

I am about to install my reversing camera and was wondering what would be the best way to run the video cable from let's say the rear cross member to the cab on a 130 HCPU?

Where to run it, how to attach it, etc?

I already worked out that I will probably use the hole for the handbrake cable to get the cable into the cab, but how do I best run the cable from the rear and make sure it stays put? Defender 130 HCPU Td5 MY2000

2010 Defender 110 Puma 2.4 USW Santorini Black

For my 110, i strapped the cable to the trailer harness as far as the seat box under the car, then strapped it to the harness from the seatbox up into the engne bay before poking it through the rubber grommet in the bulkhead behind the dash.

Have a look on Topix for the cable routing for the 13 pin trailer harness that gets you as far as the seat box.

Cable tie it to the fuel lines that run down the top of the chassis leg, then up the bulkhead and in through the rubber grommet at the back of the dash. Ray

I've run a few cables on mine same way but I put the cables in some trunking as well

Yes I had thought of ziptie-ing the cable to the fuel lines, but dismissed the idea for fear of abrasion of the fuel lines. It doesn't hurt then? Defender 130 HCPU Td5 MY2000

If it's adequately tied on then it shouldn't move enough to abrade.

Won't the tiewraps cut into the fuel lines? Defender 130 HCPU Td5 MY2000

no more than the plastic clips that hold the fuel line as standard.
