Tightened up the bolts holding a pillars to lower body...3 bolts per side at dash level. Got a good 1 1/2 turns on each. Hopefully stop persistent leak.

Which bolts do you mean? The ones that have the bug bracket the outside edges if where the front vents would be? I wonder if this is a solution to footwell rain?

Yeah - spotted a trail of water from the lower nut on the driver's side. In addition, the washer on the lower nut showed the beginning of corrosion - other 2 nuts & washer are fine.

Will see what happens. If this does not work, might be the Naka double door seals would be a worthwhile investment. 2001 TD5 110 DCPU in Bonatti Grey

PICKED IT UP Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy

Been without it for what seems like weeks! After putting quite a lot of miles on the courtesy F2 in comfort, I've had to re-deform to fit the Defender but it feels like home again! Like being inside an old friend, so to speak....

It's had a new gearbox and output shaft, roof has been touched up where the paint was peeling and the wing mirror arm has been replaced, so hopefully that will be the end of all it's issues now Thumbs Up

Wasn't able to take the long route home (valentines day or something... pfft) but I'm in Liverpool tomorrow and Whitby later this week so that'll make up for it!

Myself and my sales guy took a D4 on a 500 mile round trip today as J-Lo is at the doctors. This is the first time my sales guy has been in a D4, get this, about 30 miles into the trip he turned to me and said "The blue Land Rover is a lot more comfortable isn't it" I had to agree the D4 rocks side to side quite a bit. 130's have feeling's as well you know Smile

I have the same problem going from mine to the wifes D4 i even complained to the dealer saying there is something wrong with the D4 steering its just so sharp the slightest movement and your off were the 130 has a bit of play which is fine Thumbs Up

Rope Thumbs Up

You can swing a tyre onto your shoulder and pass it up to someone who's already up there but if you're on your own, haul it up. Never drop a tyre off the roof - it'll bounce very high and is lethal Thumbs Up One that started out as a 2.4 TDCi 110 XS

Tack how did you fit the guard? Did you rivet it in place?

makes sense, not sure i would want that amount of weight that high up. always wondered how a fully spec'd Defender would react with loads of weight in it and on the roof. having seen some of the Camel videos they seem very unstable Shocked BM52
