fitted some front HD springs ...
in this pic you can see a little diference ... Click image to enlarge but in these you can see some diference ... Click image to enlarge Click image to enlarge but I'm happy with the result ! Between winch (5o kg) and bumper (more 25 kg than standard) plus protections (+- 15 kg) plus all the bits I still want to add ... these will do ! And the 110 is now leveled ... for now ! Bonnet stickers also gone or put on
Question. If you have a snorkel fitted would the air intake on top of the wing not be sealed shut as well, or doesn't it matter? |

Very pleased with the changes ! So you kept the OE shoxs. I bet you it does not feel a lot more stiff. The lift is about 1"? Puma 110" SW

It's not a lift ... it's standard LR springs, but Heavy duty ones... NRC9448 and NRC9449, as I had the standard springs. It's now a lot more stiff, and the wheels tend to bounce less when I pass a bump ... As I usually don't carry any weight in the back I'll keep the standard ones there ... But the 110 is now leveled ... I'm happy with the changes! no...don't think so ... they're heavier ... but next to each other they're about the same height ... It's a diferent rate ...don't know much about springs, but it seems to me that the steel is thicker on the HD ones ... maybe that's why tey're havier ... Regards

Managed to get the rear, very rusty, light guards off! What a it was as well!
The guards have been on the truck since new and were looking in a right mess, powdercoat hanging off and rust showing through underneath. The self tappers had seized up nicely, got 5 out with sheer brute force (thought I was going to pop out a blood vessel or loose a struggling string) , one had to be drilled out (got to use my shiny new Makita combi) and the last one had to be almost knocked off with a chisel (couldn't get the drill directly at the screw head) . All is now nicely tidied up with a set of A4 stainless M5 bolts and washers. The back end looks transformed Great offer on the Makita BTW at Screwfix http://www.screwfix.com/prods/84044&cm...Y?ts=54525 |

EGR Kit from Alive now fitted. Will see if any noticeable difference in performance over next week or so.
Amazing what you find when doing this sort of thing. Am a complete mechanical novice - the last time I remember mucking around in an engine bay was alternator replacement in my old Volvo 340DL when I was 17. It seems like a previous owner of my Landy had a new EGR fitted at some point. Hence removal of EGR from manifold to fit blanking plate was tricky, given that previous owner had already had to drill out old bolt & re-thread with larger size, plus fitting new bracket to engine. Alive make a nice kit - simple & well made. Anyway, all out now, and put into the big pile of "used to be in the Landy" bits , in case it comes in handy in the future. 2001 TD5 110 DCPU in Bonatti Grey |
