No sorry for my English but I tried with airbox disconnected and it was the same. Vibrations in the same range.

After that unsuccessful test I reconnected my airbox and I installed my stock map. With the stock map there is no more vibrations.

I don't know what to think about it.

regards

Some progress at least.

Youve not spent any money and proven its not that.

Its a strange one.
I guess you need to decide if your gonna keep trying to fix the fault or live with it/remove the remap.

Surely there cant be many other things to try?

As it happens I was towing today and I've no hint of the fault I originally had. I really tried hard to provoke it.

I will try to fix this problem because a stock map with a 3000kg 110 is more like a nightmare.

I just would like to be sure that this vibration is not dangerouse for my driveline. If it's the case I will live with it. When vibrations appears I just need to give more gas.

I will try my stock map for a moment to find if I feel any vibrations. Maybe a little problem is just accentuated with more torque/power and more load

regards

The same problem... Remaped my 90 2.4 and big vibrations came with it... Returned to stock and everything is ok.... Don't know what to do... May be my front flange of transfer box has bad bearing... Or UJ are bad... Sad

I m not certain about that. I had vibrations since my remap. Now transfert box is news and propshafts too. Vibrations still here and disapears when I install my stock map. So we need to look for a remap problem or restrictive induction system because of the snorkel. What s your setup? Which remap? Snorkel or not? Heavy load or towing?

Best regards

Just been catching up with the thread, and I must say I am quite surprised that vibration is being caused by the map.
Okan - did the vibration begin when you installed the map? Did the transfer box fail before or after the remap? Most importantly - have you checked with Gary / Alive?

It is possible that the torque is for whatever reason "pulsing" causing a torsional vibration (rather than a "lateral" vibration you've been chasing so far). One scenario could be the induction pipe as Cetane mentioned, but it could also be something weird like turbocharger harmonics causing torque pulses under a specific loading condition (heavy vehicle, uphill, low rpm).

Best thing to do at this point would be to talk to the guy who developed the map.

Okan - have you tried running the vehicle unloaded to see if it changes the vibration?

Hi

The most unloaded I had runing it was not realy so unloaded but the vibrations were still here. Most part of the load are bullbar, winch, gallery, rooftent, rear bumper with towing accessory, wheel carrier, rocksliders and inside furnitures. I don't want to remove it all this parts. I just removed my tools and equipment.

About the map, Yes first time I noticed vibrations it was when I installed the latest map with more torque. Stage 2 version 2 from Alive Tuning, but in the same time I installed rear wide angle terrafirma propshaft and so many accessories like corrected radius arms and front double card propshaft so I didn't think that should be the map in cause but the driveline.

Because I prefered to gain much torque than power that's what I asked to Gary. More torque. I think he made a so much torque map that it was impossible to runing it correctly with my heavy loaded 110.

Transfert box failed 40'000km after installing this map.

At this time I uploaded 3 maps on my ATRIC, stock one, stage 1 version one and stage 2 version one. I will not use anymore other maps with more torque, because I tested yesterday and they are all create vibrations.

With the Cetane's advice I think that's important I do something about my induction system, because the airbox and Safari Snorkel are too much restrictivefor remaped puma. It will be a pain because with the ABS system there is no space to work correctly like Cetane's install. I'm thinking about the best solution.

I saw it on Nakatanenga but I don't know if this kit can fit with the Safari Snorkel.

My german understanding is bad...

I will let you know.

Best regards

I have stock 90 2008 66k km. Only winch(without rope) in front in "look like stock" custom bumper... So my car is not loaded.... Yes i have snorkel Mantec... I can try without it:) but i dont believe that it is the reason...

I have some maps... The map with many torque causes vibration... After remaping to stock map vibrations disappeared... The i remaped to smooth map... It is not as fast as first... It's just faster than stock a bit and no vibrations i tink....
I think thar the torque about 420-430Nm on the first map show all problem in the transmission (i have some vertical backlash in the front flange of transfer box...)... So it should be repaired... And may be UJ...
Sorry for my English

Hi!

I think you have the same problem than I have. Which remap do you have?

best regards

Are the vibrations low or high frequency?

Imagine there was no flywheel and you could feel every time a cylinder fired. (like an impact gun)
I had this higher frequency vibration any time below 2000 rpm and the cure was clutch.

The lower frequemcy vibration i had was the one where it felt like the engine was shaking out of its mounts.
Infact it felt like a mount had failed. This fault only occurred under sustained load at an rpm below 2000. I think 1750 was the worst. Towing really showed the fault.

Perhaps it would help to describe it to make sure everone has the same issue?

Okan its definately worth doing the intake mod. If only to help it breathe.

I have problems with map that has many torque...

Cetane yes it vibrates from 1500 to 2300 with full throttle open...
What was the reason?

Im not sure what cured it on mine. But it is cured, so it's possible!

If you read back through the thread I did a massive overhaul and changed too many parts to identify the fault.

My theory was to do with induction.
We all have snorkels and remaps. I always thought that it was to do with restricted intake flow.
