Managed to grab some time over the weekend, and got quite a bit done including removing the rear floor as it had a two areas of corrosion, also removed the second row upstand which had seen better days. With all this out I could get to the bolt in cross member that was rotten.

Will have to get and order the replacement panels sooner rather than later.
So next on the list is to clean up the chassis while access is good. As I had took the diesel tank out previously I've now tidied this up and painted it black along with the protection plate so hopefully I can fit this soon so at least I can move it around the drive under its own power.
Lastly managed to get hold of a standard front bumper (thanks to sako243 who kindly dropped it off) so in the process of painting this up so before long I can remove the existing one.

No problem. Just glad it didn't fall off Steve's 110 on the way between Whitchurch and Chester... Glad we (through luck more than anything) bungeed it on securely. Ed

Grabbed some time on the 110 the last couple of days, fitted the replacement crossmember along with high grade stainless nuts and bolts (from yrm). Next I moved onto the rotten c pillar on the drivers side, again I used a yrm part which was a spot on fit. I braced the door b and c pillar half way up just to be sure and took a load of measurements before attacking it with the angle grinder. Anyway after a few hours labour I was left with this- apologies for the poor camera picture.

Ran some seam sealer on the edges and it's ready for some undercoat/ and internal cavity protection. Also managed to pick up the correct coloured green spray paint from halfrauds so will use that to finish it off.
Also got the freshly painted tank back in place and treated the surrounding chassis with dintrol beforehand. Lastly thought it was best to put some fresh antifreeze in as I tested the existing fluid and it didn't seam that strong. So overall a pretty productive time, where noting went wrong for a change.

Cheers L110CDL Thumbs Up

Anyway have now tackled the c post on the opposite side, I did consider just cutting out the bottom half, however thought better of it and fitted the whole section. Just now need to the prime and paint it as per the drivers side.
Also order a couple of rear quarter panels as the aluminium had seen better days on the originals.

Pretty please how the paint came out, I had painted the chequered plate that goes over the panel but will see how good a match the panel is against the rest of the vechicle before I decide if the chequer plate goes back on. Hopefully get both of them fitted this weekend if the sealed rivets I ordered turn up.
Also been painting some of the other chequer plate - here's a few more poor camera phone pictures

Cheers, as for the the wheels - they are JGE and are copies of a Porsche 914 gas burner wheel. However the centre caps are genuine porsche thanks to eBay. 1999 300TDI 110 CSW BMW 3.0

Cheers.

Managed to grab some time today to fit the rear quarter panel. Instead of using the rusty washers that pack out the rear of the quarter panel so it lines up with the the rest of the panels, I made some ali spacers up before fitting them on the rivets then attaching to the c post. After a bit of adjustment it sat pretty well. Will most probably reattach the chequer plate and the new paint is a shade darker than the rest of the body.

Also fitted the ali repair panel on the front of the passenger side inside wheel arch. As per the drivers side I also bonded it prior to riveting it. Will be soundproofing these panels along will the rest of the rear floor.

Before the light went, I added a coat of green to the passenger side c post that I did last weekend

Welding wise I think that's now the c posts are done, the only other welding type thing is to fabricate the lower brackets that join the roll cage to the chassis, they are either not fitted or are slightly angled wrong so will need some type of adjustment. I had thought about seeingif I could purchase new ones however I can't seem to find any sort of manufacturer details on the cage. 1999 300TDI 110 CSW BMW 3.0
