TD5 door shutting
Is it a common fault that TD5 doors are always tempermental when be Question ing slammed shut. Sometimes they work fine, other times they need numerous attempts for them to latch properly.
Any advice would be appreciated.
Regards
Robert

It is all down to adjustment, using the correct shims and perseverance till you get it right.

My doors close with the minimum amount of force, no slamming whatsoever. It does take a little bit of tweaking to get them right, adjusting the two hinges and the position of the catch on the striker and if needed placing a shim behind the striker or sometimes removing a shim if fitted. Also making sure that the door rubbers are fitted perfectly, in fact if you tap the door rubbers gently all the way round with a soft mallet to make sure they are seated right this can also make a big improvement. For those who like Welsh Mountains and narrow boats have a look at my videos and photos at..

I found changing the striker plate helped with getting the doors to shut
