Which model defender?
on a puma, the main gearstick is a 5 minute job, transfer leaver is the tricky bit... |

Puma transfer lever is easy too - sharply pull upwards and off it comes. No need to touch anything mechanical 😉 Instagram: L90andy

If its not a Transit Defender then the gear stick will come out by undoing one M10 nut. Lift the rubber gaiter and you will see it.

He is correct in that you remove the whole gear stick... but it is very straight forward. See the sticky at the top re gear stick rattle.
As for the transfer lever, it does just pull up, although you may need to pull harder than you think you should, it will be fine. |
