Definitely the slash. Looks like an epic defender. Engineering skills are very impressive. Want to extend my 110 to 130. Just need to find the funds. More likely to win the lottery. Amazing job awesome. Keep up the posts.

Cheers guys really appreciate the support and input on here.
Been a bit cold to be out in the cattle shed so ive been working on other bits and pieces in the house Firstly a cover plate for the pneumatic valves to operate the high and lo and difflock on the transfer case. should look well on the transmission tunnel when i fab it. Click image to enlarge Also still not 100% on the exhaust so been playing with designs and ive narrowed it down to 2 now a straight 3" or a ellipse 3" leaning toward the ellipse atm Think it looks less agri spec . Click image to enlarge Click image to enlarge Click image to enlarge Also received a delivery of a boost controller and a stainless 1/8 EGT boss to weld into the exhaust. Should help me get some more power out of the cummins reliably . Click image to enlarge Exhaust will be finished this weekend i hope fingers crossed -Ged |

Agree with you there Ged, the way you are leaning on the choice of the exhaust and the cover plate looks spot on to me as well 1996 Golf Blue 300Tdi 110 Pick up.

Cheers, Pushing on through the cold with the exhaust saga now almost complete few springs to weld on to finish the slip joints as it too narrow for anything else.

hehe im glad you approve, final bit of welding to do this week and it will be grand. Moved onto a few other jobs. biggest of which was tuning the engine.
Boost is now peaking at 2.7bar a little black smoke while on boost. Safe to say im at the limit of the hx35 and ill be leaving the power around there for a while. estimated around 300-350hp with the 3800rpm governor and sheadloads of torque. Engine and pump mods so far. 5.9 cummins HX35w turbo 12cm housing 3" inter cooler and pipework 3" exhaust +50 injectors VE static timing advance 1 tooth Boost pin Piston lift pump. video for the craic. I also fitted some sound deadening and completed the bonnet work. Click image to enlarge Click image to enlarge and started mocking up some ideas for the trans tunnel. Click image to enlarge MOT's now getting closer. Last edited by Red8eard on 27th Nov 2016 10:59pm. Edited 1 time in total |
