Have I got the (correct) horn?
Got a bit of time to tinker with my new 90 yesterday and began by tidying up the battery box. The battery is quite small so the clamp wasn't holding it properly and there were a mass of random wires, some of which weren't connected to anything. I think it's had spotlights fitted in the past that have since been removed but all of the wiring left in place.

Sorted the clamp easily enough and set about removing surplus wires, which included some that were traced to an air horn that was cabled tied to the air filter Rolling Eyes Removed the lot and threw it away.

I ran out of time to do any more but I did notice that one standard horn was fitted behind the grill on the passenger side. Is that standard for this age of vehicle or should there be two - a high and low, one on either side?

Thanks in advance. Darren

Never seen two on a TDI unless retrofitted ... They usually just have the one ... Guns and Landrovers .... anything else is irrelevant.

Great, thank you. Just got to reinstate the wiring in that case. Darren

Thanks Smile I did notice that yours is the same vintage (and colour) as mine, Darren

Mine has 2 horns, same position as shaggy dog's, but under each other. Seems genuine. Cheers, Vincent
