Yep I have a Corris 90XS with Bowler steering guard in black with the Bowler bumper and sills and Black Bowler Wheels. I'll see if I can find a picture...
I just felt the silver was a bit much. Would have been nice if the wheels could have been satin black to match rather than gloss, but it doesn't look wrong and they are normally dirty. Debating the Recaros and the suspension this Spring...... Sorry the photo isn't great they were instagram ones... Click image to enlarge Click image to enlarge [/img] |

I just got the cheap aluminium guard from paddocks
Gave it a coat of ething primer and sprayed it Matt black. Did wonders for the looks IMO. |

I would class the quality as OK, nothing particularly wrong or brilliant about it.
Mind you its 8 years since I fitted it, I don't offroad so hasn't been tested in this way, steel brackets. I only sprayed it black this year and all it needed was a bit of a clean for spraying. I expected a bit of corrosion where aluminium meets steel but zero visible. I've had some of the so called superior products from our friends in Germany and found the finish slightly more professional, nothing to get excited about for something that lives under the vehicle though. Maybe I'd give the extra if it was sitting on the living room table! Remember it's not an engine or drivetrain component either. Last edited by df1 on 28th Dec 2014 5:19pm. Edited 1 time in total |

I'm liking the LR ribbed guard LR008247 but not the >£400 price tag. Cheers, Guy.

It's because it's an SVX listed part that makes it so expensive....
I managed to get one reduced that had 'done the rounds' with I believe two former forum members. Eventually powdercoated it black after taking an angle grinder to it to chop an inch off each side so it would fit with the replacement bumper recovery eyes..... I've got the land rover ribbed jobbie and although nice as it is, I think it is a bit over priced.
Whats the cost of the Bowler guard? |

I think the Bowler is a similar price @ £300 plus VAT
