There is no requirement for an engine to meet later standards, the emissions requirement is based on the age of the engine, or the vehicle, whichever is oldest. You will need to prove the age of the engine though when you take it for a test. That's not usually a problem though, especially if you've changed the engine number etc... on the log book beforehand. Just take a suitable reference book although any LR literate MOT tester will know the age anyway from the engine type (10P, 15P etc...) I've been through this a few times in different permutations and never had an issue at MOT time as long as all the paperwork is up to date. http://www.motuk.co.uk/manual_730.htm http://www.yorkshireoffroadclub.net/ |

Seeing your location as Wales, and that the vehicle is a red 130 tipper, does it belong to Lampeter tree surgery by any chance? Looking forward to seeing how you get on with getting it running
