As in the picture my Puma gear knob has been perished/ cracked probably due to excessive heaty climate these days and as a temporary solution I have glued together but doubt how long it lasts. I noted that to change just the damn gear knob you have to change the whole gear leaver as a kit which I found very costly. I'm sure it will perish again even I replaced. Has anyone got an inexpensive simple solution just to replace this crappy knob.? |

There was a thread somewhere about cutting it off to expose the shaft inside, its not threaded tho apparently so you'd end up either gluing one on or cutting your own thread into the rod, possibly not the most elegant solution but likely the cheapest.

Wrap it with Baco foil and put a red & yellow ring at the base and your life will be at one with the Spirit world. 2008 RS4 gone, 123d M Sport, and a Puma 90 XS..

They say this end is compatible with the Defender, but I'm not sure how it would fit... Worth a try for the price though...

I just fixed mine using a kneadable 2-part black-coloured epoxy called PC-7 (from USA)
It was cracked all over and a chunk had fallen off. I glued the chunk back on and filled up the cracks, wiped off the excess. Actually looks quite OK now and the epoxy dries hard, meaning it feels fine too |
