United Kingdom 2011 Defender 110 Puma 2.4 XS CSW Stornoway Grey
Latest Pumas
Hi all,

What are the recent Pumas like? Are most of the early problems ironed out now?

I had one of the very early ones (May 07) and had no real problems with it - sold it after about 15 months to buy a house Rolling Eyes

So aside from the usual Defender niggles are there other issues still no resolved?

Cheers,
John John

Will new Defenders have front daytime running lights? If so, how and where?

Although recent changes to their classification mean they are commercial vehicles so they don't need to comply with passenger car regs. Maybe the van rules re daytime lights are different?

i read somewhere where you can fit a circuit to the dip lights to go on/off with the live ignition circuit. i think it was a voltage sensor relay of some sort?

i must do a search on this as i am a fan of having daylight running lights. also i have seen LED lights in the side lights as well. good idea IMHO BM52

I've got a 2011MY and touch wood I've had a couple of little issues but nothing major. However I do thing that a lot of it is to do with how willing the dealer is to help. Russell

Long time no speak JSG! We had twin 110s. Mine's alright now. Hopefully the newer ones will cut out the early niggles. What are you looking at buying?

Hi Seb, indeed we did Cool

Mine was a good one - very few niggles even. My local dealer was excellent with support for odd bits and carried out a complete underseal treatment and changed the clutch even though I hadn't notice a rattle.

I do miss it - it was a great 'modern' Defender Laughing

The house is better for living in though Rolling Eyes

We have two TD5s currently - 110 DC and 90 CSW but I fancy another Puma, I'd go for a 110 XS again I think as 7 seats is useful.

Depends on the finances working out though Wink John

I have a 11MY 110. No major problems. Some minor irritations which I fixed myself like a water leak in the back and lots of loose and miss aligned floor panels. I also had to tighten some loose nuts on the anti-roll bars.

The dealer is even fitting carpets in it after I complained that it doesnt have any. (08 Feb: just found out that they will be charging me for this so Ive told them to get stuffed)

Done just over 10k kms since October the 1st (including an off road trip to Botswana towing an off road caravan) and loving it more and more.....

Hi bm52, I've fitted front day-time running lights. I'll send you the diagram if you let me have your e-mail address.
