Hi, just a comment on my journey today in my Puma left home at 6am - arrived at meeting at 8:10 and 127 miles later - felt fresh and relaxed. took 2 1/2 hours on the way back thanks to the M25 but felt relaxed on the way home again. i can't comment too much on TD5s but when compared to my 300tdi the Puma is miles ahead when it comes to cruising ability and comfort [it also has Mud rails and an uprated hi-fi]. My wife much prefers the Puma and has even said she could see us cruising down through France in it! BM52 |

I understand this thread is about the latest Pumas compared to Pumas that have gone before.
I have had a major issue with ALL Defenders since they stopped galvanising the body cappings. I have had problems with 2 Td5's and now my 2008 Puma Hard Top. The body cappings on my vehicle are looking very shabby. I have been considering my options but will not be buying another Defender until Land Rover decide to take this issue more seriously. Having said that they are obviously doing something right with sales up 19% Defenderno9 |

My '07 didn't have any problems with the cappings when I traded in for a new 110 XS USW toward the end of last year, nor did the various TD5's before that or 300Tdi's etc before that. Granted some have issues over the years but TBH it's not going to put me off buying another new one, besides if there's a problem then that's what the warranty is for. Generally speaking my '07 was pretty good all things considered and the new one has been ok so far (all bar an oil leak into the transmission brake (which was quickly fixed under warranty). Steve. Owned numerous Land Rover vehicles of all shapes and sizes over the decades. Current Defender: A non tarts hand-bagged Puma 110 XS USW. [Insert something impressive here such as extensive list of previous Land Rovers or examples of your prestigeous and expensive items, trinkets, houses, bikes, vehicles etc] http://forums.lr4x4.com I used to be Miserable ...but now I'm ecstatic. |

Once again thanks for all the input. Decision has been made - need to sell a 110 TR now ... John
