A D2 shoot lol, I doubt there would be much time for actual shooting as peeps would be too busy checking out and discussing who has the very best single / pair / trio of guns. Steve.

My only o/u is a Miroku MK60 in G5 - wonderful gun to shoot, with fixed 1/4 & 3/4. But my usual fun gun is a Rem 11-87, just fits me so well and seems to find the target without me doing anything

New dog - who'll be 18 months at the start of the season - and I've joined a new syndicate this season to boot.
Lost my old shooting partner at Christmas (Hector - aged 11), a little too young - he shot for 8 seasons with me. The pup (Scout) is welcome to be 'a pup' on the new shoot (walk and stand) and I'm really looking forward to it (so's he - although he doesn't know what's coming yet!). Thought about buying a new gun, but then read the D2 forum entries and decided to keep some money back - just in case! |

Do 4 or 5 driven days a year, plus a couple of Beaters day, however I am fortunate to have access to 2500 acres of farms for Deer Stalking and that I find more therapeutic than driven days as I enjoy the solitude and the fact that I provide for my family. The Driven days are for me about friendship and badinage.
Spend more time looking for the challenging high bird than the flying duvet and the fun of nicking your best mates bird as he is mounting his gun

Placed all our poults to our nine pens yesterday and now the gamekeeping begins in earnest. Huge BBQ afterwards to reward all for the hard work done. 2008 RS4 gone, 123d M Sport, and a Puma 90 XS..

We did same , nice and early before it got too hot , and give them time to acclimatise with the turkeys

I shoot and that's the reason I got a Defender. The majority of syndicate members also had Defenders and I felt left out with a Discovery 4. Now the proud owner of a 2003 110 (Brenda) along with a 3 year old working Cocker (Benson).

Just back from 3 days grouse shooting in Norway. I say shooting but it was hunting. All kit was carried in a backpack and we walked for 7 hours day 1, 9 hours days 2 and 3 hours days 3. The bag was 6 grouse between 4 people, but it was completely irrelevant - we were in a national park, sleeping in a cabin (old shepherd's hut), swimming in the lake (with snow melt, so it was a short swim) and generally just enjoying the stunning surroundings. We were just outside of Voss, about 2 hours from Bergen. Already planning next year.....
On a Landy related note, my friend over there has a 2 year old D4 HSE Luxury and very nice it is to. New it was £130k, but after 18 months was £80k......that is some pretty special depreciation. Click image to enlarge |
