Does this mean can put a GB sticker back on my number plate instead of the European stars !😊

Probably yes. You should not continue to have the EU format license plates. Same like we here, when we cross the border we are legally obliged to have this large CH sticker. If not, the French can demand a 90€ cash fine payable on the spot. Shocked
And as you know, France are keen to fine foreigners, they need the money for the budget. Whistle
How do I know? Evil or Very Mad

Really? I suspect that silly smile won't last too long once the reality of this sinks in.

just saw this hilarious rant by a Brit, can anyone confirm whether they saw the Spitfires? Rolling Eyes

Quote:
Friday's going to be amazing! I'm going to wake up in my Union Jack jim-jams to the sound of a squadron of Spitfires racing overhead and leaving a trail of hot buttered crumpets behind them.

I'll run to the corner shop past all the British children who are laughing and squealing with excitement as they make a beautiful statue of the queen out of happy wriggling bulldog puppies - with two corgis for her eyebrows!

Bunting flutters everywhere and the man from the betting shop steps into the street - 'guess what! England just won the World Cup and The Ashes and The Grand National and here's the best bit - Boris put a bet on it for everyone! You're all MILLIONAIRES!!!'

The Red Arrows fly overhead dropping fish and chips as I walk into the corner shop, get my morning paper and go to the counter. 'How much please?' I say to the Asian lad there. 'One pence, everything in the whole shop now costs just 1p!' he laughs, leave it on the counter, I'm off back to Pakistan - we all are!'

And he's right! Outside in the streets jolly old Nigel Farage is leading a huge crowd of happy foreigners - Turks, Poles, Romanians, Syrians - there's even a few English people with heavy suntans mixed up in there! Nigel's playing Rule Britannia on a long pipe, rather like the pipe that takes the gas into your oven, and they're all following and smiling and talking foreign, bless them!

Just then Boris flies overhead in a concorde made of Bank of England gold - 'don't worry!' he laughs. 'I've cut out all the bits the French made!' and with that he crashes into the ground at 1200 miles an hour, along with the economy, the country and all the dozy nostalgic foreigner-fearing f--kwits who fell for his bulls--t.

Grow up. Wake up.

With the current £/€ forex rate, that cheese may become more expensive for you though....

Independence Day for whom?

Scotland vote remain so another referendum for Scottish independence as the SNP want to stay in the EU

Northern Ireland voted remain. That is our only land border with the EU. A call for the reunification of Ireland?

Wales voted leave, so what will happen there?

Break up of the U.K.?

Independence Day?

Prices will go up, with possibility of taxes going up, with a strong downward pressure on wages.

£ has slumped 10% against the $ . Now fuel used to be about £1 a litre has risen to about £1.10. Crude oil has now gone up in £ term so fuel will rise in price.

Same type of argument for food imports.

Independence Day?

Brendan

Eric, I have not said how I would vote, that is between me and the ballot box.

However I have discussed the effect of foreign exchange on prices in the UK.

Most people seem to just ignore the effects of exchange rates on prices.

So will prices rise in the shops? There will be very strong pressure on rise. Alternative is to cut costs which include wages?

Many people have not had effective wage rises for years in the UK. Prices going up, effectively stagnant wages, means downward pressure on the UK economy.

And so it begins.....along with the scaremongering, rumour, hearsay and speculation. The choice has been made which of course will rile the minority. Brendan, can not agree more. But going back thru the pages of this thread, most of you voted for this, yes? Rolling Eyes

The rumour is that the disaffected Labour heartlands are what has swung the vote. Not to leave Europe per se, but to shock the establishment whom they feel have ignored them for years. As such, exit polls interviewed people who hadn't voted in general elections since the miners' strike in '83, just to prove a point. Shocking if true. Shocked Monsieur Le Grenadier

Living in Scotland (which voted to Remain)... and that crazy Sturgeon woman...another poll for Scottish Independence now on the cards.

Think I'll leave Scotland...can't cope with another load of Scottish racism against the English.

I agree completely Martin. Today, for the 1st time in my life i can honestly say im ashamed to be Scottish..

If "indyref2" goes ahead, and Scotland negotiates a deal to join the EU independently from the rest of the UK i will leave Scotland.
