My "problem" as was clearly expressed, is the invective, not the man's views.

Having owned Land Rovers continuously since 1968, my interest in this forum is Land Rovers. Not semi-literate political ramblings.

Final warning. I know tensions are high but this is not the place for arguing. Grow up and discuss things sensibly or I will lock the thread, and I am not beyond restricting forum access. Most of you know the standard of contribution expected here and some of you are falling significantly below that. You know who you are. "Political" threads invariably stir up "emotions",..seen it on several Forums.
My opinion is that I don't see any need at all to shut down the thread, BUT to "shut down"/Ban any INDIVIDUAL that makes any personal derogatory remarks directed to another member. Ban 'em for as long as you like, 2 weeks, 4 weeks etc etc,....it usually works very well. Many have different opinions, and we should be free to express them, as long as we do it in a respectful manner. IMHO, of course. Pickles. |

Steve in reply to you're question I'm happy to accept a majority vote when the decision was based on facts on a load of false promises as in this case as I clearly said above.
Before the referendum Farage said unless there was a very clear majority he would call for a new vote, it's fallen within his parameters for a new vote but he's a bit quiet now isn't he? Keeping a stiff upper lip, singing the National anthem keeping calm and carrying on isn't going to fix this situation, neither is back biting - I published my concerns and no one from the leave campaign has managed any reasonable argument to allay these fears. The very best was a suggestion to move to Yorkshire as there's lots of micro breweries and sheep The suggestion to move to another isolated country in Asia who are blindly trying to do their own thing merely proves my point, most are starving and they are also up censored creek Peace and love and can someone from the leave campaign come up with some reasonable arguments to ease my brain or is it fact that we just don't know what's going to happen, and we've risked everything and I mean everything on a double or nothing bet? |

Both sides make fair points.
But heres the thing. A referendum was held in a democratic society. 1 side won, 1 side lost. Let the people who lost accept this result like the adults they are supposed to be, and lets move on. I still think this thread should be locked. Otherwise the same old points will be gone over again and again ad nauseum, and at the end of the day the result will stand unchanged...... There is, I suspect, nothing that as a leave I can say to appease your fears for the future because otherwise you would have not voted remain but what I can say is that staying in offers as many unpredictable scenarios as leaving but going on the balance of history, I have seen enough of what lunacy the EU is capable of doing and that worries me far more than what is now ahead of us. At least now if we don't like the direction our government is heading we can unelect them and now they can't hide behind the EU. Rhubarb and custard let fly with their secret weapon.

So gentlemen there are no decent arguments apart from self government - which if we'd had followed the French and Greeks we could have ignored all the laws we didn't like anyway - we could have effectively had self government.
The forum rules and reasonable human behaviour prevent personal abuse, so lock the thread, we'll ignore the remainders now and let's ride, something along the lines of 'cry God, Harry & St George'. (Please someone correct that quote !) is the best I can hope for? Peace and love |

Ickle there are lots of good arguments. Just begin reading the thread from the beginning again and you will find them.
