Who says they wouldn't be allowed in?
I thought the idea was foreigners would be allowed in, in a controlled manner. A bit like if you or I wanted to emigrate to Canada or New Zealand. It's a bit like me wanting to go to Spain this year. The ferry was full so I couldn't buy a ticket even tho I wanted to get on the ferry they wouldn't let me. I'm not happy but that's the way it is. |

On a serious topic - and yes I am serious even after you have read this.
Has anyone else considered this point; One of the supporters of UK leave is Vladimir Putin. Currently in France there is a large group of Russian thugs trying, and achieving, to start fights with England supporters and thus potentially winning us an early trip home. The Russian "supporters" are heavily tattooed with Russian prison markings. Russians don't often have disposable income to come and visit places, certainly not criminals because they have to get a visa. So, is it possible, that we are seeing State sponsored aggression against England. And for what purpose? Could that purpose be so we are kicked out of the competition and thus strengthen anti EU sentiment?? And if that is true, for what purpose? I know, it's a bit daft. But Russia (and others) have previous for this sort of stunt. Don't shoot me down as a tin foil hatter. Odder things have been done in the name of politics. That is obviously what you want to believe. Apply a bit of propositional logic and you'll find there are plenty of things that can be determined both ways. Also, we may know what we have got right now, but we do not know what we will have. You may think it's risking my future but I couldn't disagree more and have a very clear clear vision of many possible scenarios. I know full well that staying in the EU is a much greater threat to my way of life in many ways - I would be foolish not to take an opportunity. The EU is not some big comfort blanked that will protect us from the big bad world. You think I'm a dreamer; well, I think you're just being defeatist, and frankly, extremely dismissive. Like I say, I'm just applying hard logic.
These are just wide ranging, and easily qualified.
This is in part certain, part highly probable, and part possible - it's impossible to argue that our MPs would not get back powers if we leave.
There's a very realistic chance of ending free movement from the EU if we leave.
The EU is very protectionist and any customs union shifts the balance of the market. Remove the market preferences the EU creates and the whole lot becomes more even. The short term econmic shock would help to shake it up and reduce complacency. It's a matter open to opinion, but I'm very confident of it.
Self explanatory - this is an absolute certainty.
Simple really - we can currently check the passports of EU nationals, but we need an exceptional reason to refuse them access. Pasports can be granted in other countries which then automatically allow access to ours. It would be in no-one's interest to stop mutual intelligence sharing, so that's extremely unlikely to change. I refer back to your previous statement then:

One point that I do think should be made is that until there is a fiscal penalty for not voting then whatever the outcome it will be argued that it doesn't really reflect the views of the whole country. I would also extend that to election voting too. Rhubarb and custard let fly with their secret weapon.

Well said Lambert the farmer
People are just too lazy to vote. Then when something happens they don't like they kick up a fuss. It should be compulsory to vote |

And it would be simple to do. Your presence at the polling station is already recorded so as to prevent casting more votes than you have rights to so it would then be a matter of cross referencing that back to your tax returns and applying a 10% of annual income weight for those who didn't vote. That is then fair and a significant incentive. And it also preserves the anonymity of your actual preference. Rhubarb and custard let fly with their secret weapon.

I completely disagree; it's very important that voting should be entirely optional. Those who have a strong opinion should not have them watered down by those that don't know or don't care.
You must be off your rocker if that's what you believe. Honestly, you aren't making sense when you deny that leaving would "protect ourselves from the risk of being attatched to a large political and fiscal union", that our MPs would get some powers back and that there is a good chance of ending free movement. Maybe you'd like to explain why you are so confident that not a single one of those is going to happen? Visiting from DISCO3.CO.UK Discovery 3 TDV6 Auto HSE Zambezi Silver |

just a wee little thought.
take the top of the range Range Rover. if we leave the EU will the rest of world decide they don't want one anymore? Rolls Royce engines - everyone suddenly gonna start buying their engines elsewhere? And I presume no one in the EU owns an Ipad? Not sure how we've got one. Guess we must have imported it illegally perhaps? get the idea. I presume also our intelligence gathering is so poor no one in the EU will want the benefit of it and therefore we'll miss out on their intelligence gathering too? |

Though the reason for it was dreadful and done to show respect, and rightly so, but does anyone else thinks the two days of no referendum peddling of lies, mistruths and the bombardment of dubious facts has been refreshing. For those who like Welsh Mountains and narrow boats have a look at my videos and photos at..
