^^^^ Bang on, I'm 24 as well and voted Brexit, no good trying to think younger people are all for Europe. Very wrong.

Anyone else see that Geldof debolical on a £1million pound yacht, then preach in Labour amongst others about working people etc.
There were fishermen there, that took an unpaid days work off to be there.

And having Clarkson backing IN, well... Need I say more.

I'm amazed the other 27 EU member states aren't having a referendum to have us booted out. Sometimes I am embarrassed to be English Sad

Final warning about the behaviour of some of you in this thread.

DISCO3 manages to discuss this topic without the insults, sarcasm and trolling.

Do better, or if you can't control yourself STAY OFF THIS THREAD.

If you cannot I will remove this thread and ban all referendum discussion. Or I might ban individual members. I don't want to go down that route but I am being blatantly ignored.

A reminder:

I had to take one down a couple of weeks ago due to the insults flying around.

Have an adult conversation rather than arguing. If you can't contribute sensibly then stay off this topic.

As a young person myself, let me make a suggestion to others:

I have already voted to leave. I have done so after years of consideration. I have done so because I believe all the arguments favour leaving, not some trade off between immigration and the economy. I have done so as a relatively "liberal cosmopolitan" person, who values the input of other cultures and friendly relations with our neighbours, yet I have also done so as a conservative person, who values traditional British culture very highly. I have done so for freedom, for flexibilty, for equality of opportunity. I have done so to improve British politics, to get the power back to our MPs and with it the faith of the British people, and with luck to see and end to the dogmatic imposition of others' opinions between countries. I have done so to see an end to the discrimination against non-EU migrants and to allow sustainable migration so we can continue to help others in the future. I have done so to increase market competition and get the best service and prices for consumers. I have done so to help small businesses to compete against the dominating big players. I have done so to protect ourselves from the risk of being attatched to a large political and fiscal union. I have done so to offer us the best ability to prevent terrorists entering our country.

What I have not done is to make a hasty and unconsidered decision. I have not done so because I am a "little Englander". I have not done so because I am hostile to our European neighbours. I have not done so because I am prepared to gamble with the economy. I have not done so with blind optimism and nostalgia. I have not done so because I won't be affected by the result. I have not done so because I don't care.

So to all the young people, and old too, consider the above, take a second look at whether the EU means and does what you thought it did or whether there's a different way, and don't be taken in the the remain camps narrow-minded, vengeful and totally inaccurate view of what it is to be a leave supporter. Don't let other people define the decision for you - you define it, and then you make it.

Thank you my friend. I was not offended, I just wanted to clear things a bit.

After all we both have a very deep and challenging history. Your great nation is made to lead not to follow. EU today has nothing common with the initial idea of its founders.

To be fair we all have had bad nights out with mates and you use a peculiar comparison by this argument, also why would you wish to go back to a club that was in your example s**t, in this comparison to the EU I agree with your reasoning, however, some of the worst nights out I have had have been improved by a good kebab shop. Very fine sentiments but the possibility of any one of those becoming a reality is wishful thinking. We don't know we simply don't know no one knows and no one will ever be able to say they were right! What we do know is what we have got and that is all. I don't think its half bad at all!! I love this country and that is after 40 years of being in the common market.

I'm confident in the fundamental and logical basis for all of them. It is all very well thinking "yeah, but it might not/won't happen" but how is giving up before trying going to be any better? You may consider it wishful thinking, but I consider it a mere collection of probabilities to weigh up on either side - the weights on the scale may be heavy or light but the balance can still change. I have 100% confidence in my ideals, else I would not have them, so there is nothing for me to lose by following them, and only regret if I do not. Thumbs Up Visiting from DISCO3.CO.UK

I i'm honest I'm not too interested in reading all of this thread. I've know I'll be voting and that's about all I can do bu I do have two comments to add to the mix.

1. Some woman the other day from Spain seemed to be most upset with Mr Gove about all the the taxes she'd paid into the UK inland revenue and I got the impression that she thought the UK owed her. She didn't mention why she was here. I suspect she was here for her own benefit and wasn't dragged here? Granted it might have been beneficial to the UK in which case it's worked to her and the UK which makes perfect sense.

2. Immigration seems to crop up in almost every interview / discussion and therefore I suspect there is an issue with racism. Perhaps this needs to considered and discussed rather than simply dismissed? Dismissing anything isn't the best way of resolving a problem.

Question

Firstly, it's only one person that thinks the place they are in is s**t.

Secondly, yes kebab shops do improve things, but bizarrely they are run by Greeks and Turks who wouldn't be allowed in...... and you can't of course remain in the kebab shop forever. New project and it's green: www.projectoverland.info
