Is it just me or does everyone notice that people seem to assume that because you're in a Defender you can't be going that fast, so they'll pull out (inappropriately) from the side junction onto the main road, in a gap too tight and then make no attempt to accelerate? Is it the model that confuses them? Is it the shape? Or is it just me and my local French? Monsieur Le Grenadier

People who respond to a question with 'let's be clear' or simply 'why?' Steve.
Owned numerous Land Rover vehicles of all shapes and sizes over the decades. Current Defender: A non tarts hand-bagged Puma 110 XS USW. [Insert something impressive here such as extensive list of previous Land Rovers or examples of your prestigeous and expensive items, trinkets, houses, bikes, vehicles etc] http://forums.lr4x4.com I used to be Miserable ...but now I'm ecstatic. |

Not so far no. It's early days but they seem to be scared of me and are keeping their distance. Apart from that drunkard in the lawnmower last week of course. |

Must have been an 'in' voter there then last week Riverboy.
Joking aside. Someone today I was following kept driving fast around bends where you should slow down. Then on open road where you'd want to make safe quicker progress they slow down and hold you up. And yes, they do pull out in the UK too! Usually have a nervous look on their face when you get close though! |

Must have been a Frenchman Steve. Overtake at high speed on blind bends and slow down on the straight.

The definition of a chip is cut at least ½" square section not the spindly things the continentals call 'frittes'.
Fries can be made out of extruded rehydrated dehydrated potato powder (and frequently are to obtain a uniform size and length). |

a. People who stop in the middle of a road waiting at a T-junction to turn right (countries that drive on the left) not giving anyone enough room to pull up beside them to turn left.
b. People who are given well enough room but deciding there isn't enough room, effectively becoming a queued version of 'a'. c. People who go into a kind panic/'hide' mode when I drive overland - slowly and safely (indicating etc.) in non-pedestrainised areas - to get around all this crap. Solved the bowel problem, working on the consonants... |

^^
d. people turning right from a major road into a minor road and cutting the corner - the number of times I am approaching a T-junction on the minor road and have to brake sharply to avoid a head on collision seems to be increasing. Particularly prevalent during the afternoon school pick up time ... (blonde, sunglasses, Audi Q7 or similar ...) |
