wiring help with my rear camera and lights on.
Hello

Noticed today with my side lights on engage reverse, the reversing camera screen does not come on.

Switch the side lights off and it comes on.

Any idea what I have wired incorrectly? I wired the camera to the reversing light.

Thanks

I'm no wiring wiz but looking at the wiring diagram the reversing light and rear side tail/stop lights seem to share the same earth. Could this have anything to do with it?

With the sidelights on there would be draw on the rear earth as the number plate light and rear tail lights etc would be on.
The reverse ads to it, the front would be a different matter due to different earth.
That could be the issue, check the earth strap on the transfer box rear clean and tighten and see if that cures your issue.

If you've had any drivetrain work completed lately then there is even higher likelyhood of earthing issues.
Reason the earthing is a common fault is because it has random effects on various circuits.

Once when it was loose on mine, the same earth I mentioned above if you'd brake the indicators would all flash end the whole dash, I mean every light light would light up.
Indicate right, left indicators would work instead etc.
You should check earth continuity, before anything at reverse lights etc and you should be able to determine the issue without getting under first with a Multimeter.

In lieu of a multimeter, open up your battery compartment, from the neg terminal you'll see a fat cable exit via a grommet towards the centre of the vehicle. Get under and have a look around the transfer box where this cable exits, see if it's secure. Solved the bowel problem, working on the consonants...
